Ive searched the internet and have found a few people who have the same problem we have. Most are easily solved by changing a blown dome fuse. Like yours mine is good. So Im thinking a break along that same line. A bad connection somewhere or some control board having an issue. The reason I'm a bit hesitant on bad connection is that it as working on / off for awhile and then just stopped working all together. Does it take your fuel gauge a minute or so before it shows the right amount of fuel? Mine flash one peg for awhile before showing the right amount. It started doing this at the same time everything stopped working.

It does this when it looses power.

Have you actually replaced the fuse with a new one or just checked it ?

If you check the fuse with a ohmmeter and it show continuity, what benefit is there in changing the good fuse?

    Same to the T
Mines an 05 - I did replace the Combination unit as mine started the capacitor failure and was never updated to 06+
Still slow Fuel gauge response time
I replaced the factory radio for aftermarket unit- and my MFD Climate still functions.

We seem to have the same failed module or melted/broken wire.
I suspect and have heard of people having dome/interior lamp issues when they left them on .
I am wondering if The gauge of wire is insufficient for the draw...so over time it's warmed/cycled enough to cause a break or worse melting at a cimp/termial or in the very middle .

Dolj- any ideas? You seem to be a veteran of knowledge for the Gen 2

So- I did the voltage test
At the two sockets in drivers foot- I get 12.64 volts across sockets-
The dome underhood was a different story-
Across socket I get 0 volts. Jump the hot side of socket to ground outside of the fuse block and get 12.64

    So
Seems the wire to ground /to what ever junction is after underhood fuses block is open -
    Now to figure out color
    I suspect gray -
Anyone had luck tracing this particular wire?

The voltage measurement should be as follows:

The negative (black) voltmeter test lead should be connected to body ground.
The positive (red) voltmeter test lead is used to probe the fuse socket. One terminal should have 12VDC and the other will have 0VDC since no fuse is installed.

The 12VDC being present depends upon what fuse socket is being checked and the status of the electrical system: whether IG-OFF, ACC-ON, IG-ON or READY.

I follow - so dome will have 12 regardless of ig on/off

I am now on a wild goose hunt for the failed wire or module then related to these failed components

If I have a broken wire on the ground side- or wire going into cabin- testing across the fuse socket means that 0 VDC shows I have an open somewhere. The fuse does not blow.....

Has anyone traced an error down to a specific wire or module since my three fuses are good- is it possible of a relay being faulty- I am about to trac down and trace all common wire colors and print the wiring manual -
I can also try wiring around and doing 12v to radio to bypass the module/ use an inline fuse to prtotect new circuit....

because the slight torque required to fully seat a fuze can sometimes be enough to cause the fuze to fail.

    Patrick-

So in dome socket probing leads,. I should have 12VDC-
IF I can only get 12VDC at one leg- to ground outside of underhood fuse box, the break is in the wire (red) out of the box, or the fault lies between said wire and the next module inline....

    Anyone have a clue-

I have been scanning the wire guide for 04- and am lost at the amount of color changes this wire does between modules....

I am going to likely repace the interior fuse block and existing relays and the power distribution module- and will then see if body control module is faulty afterword's.

I am at a loss- I have 12 to the underhood socket- but not from socket to module/junction in car.
But I have nearly every function except Radio/VSC/Dome lamps -

    I haven't fixed mine-
I am going to replace the power distribution block this weekend to see if it's an internal failure -
    IF this doesn't fix it-
I will run separate power and ground to the radio direct-
I also have another known good MFD coming my way to see if it's all internal to it-
The part that upsets me the most is the fact there are 4-5 color changes between multiple modules that are on the same circuit as the features that are not functioning.

seems if I have a bad module- all would be non functional.

    So-
The search will start or end Sat lol.

    Update:
Replacing the interior Fuse/junction block did not remedy a single thing.

Said part was removed from working car- just wrecked.
I am curious if the 12V power module may be to blame
I did a scan of car on TIS and got a code for a bad Smart Key module - but would that cause the dome lamps to fail? radio and clock seem part of the picture but Dome lamps does make sense if that module has gone bad,

Sadly- its a guessing game some.

The cost of used modules is worth the chance as - tracing all wire colors isn't an optinon w a 3 and 8 yr old and 2-3 hours free a week to work on it.

I also wonder if gateway ecu could be a spot of concern as that radio diag screen says radio isnt connected- (NCON) but all wiring appeared good- and fuses checked out,

Please post if you do track down the problem. I have put about 5000 miles on the car since the problem started. It runs fine but the no radio and having to unlock the car with actual key is definitely a pain. The other things (clock, dome light, ect) I could live without. Broke wire or module is my guess. Mine would work sporadicly for awhile before it stopped working all together which leads me to believe a module.

    Will do
    So far nothing-
I’m debating the smart key module as I did code for something the other day On smart key that I had never gotten a history for when using tis
