I was wondering what would be good option if i want to change my shocks to a stiffer set but i do not want to sacrifice ride height as i live in malaysia and roads here aren't exactly the best. The reason i want to change to a stiffer set of shocks is to help with handling and also to help with carrying heavy loads as there are a number of quite tall speed bumps in my area and i do not want the vehicle to bottom out when i am carrying cargo or people or both.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

    TQ

You should raise height but keep everything else the same. Stiffer will lead to premature wear of struts, suspension and etc. what’s your tire pressure set to?

sure I'll look into raising ride height, current tire pressure is 32psi which is the recommended tie pressure for the car. I have however changed the tires to a set of 205/65R15s still on the OEM rims though.

Look up the Prius lift kit. It adds a spacer that will raise the height of the Prius. As far as stiffer shocks, I dont think there really is one, unless you bought coilovers and raised the car.. But then with the conditions of your roads, coilovers would get warn out quickly, even if you raised the car. I would suggest Koni shocks if you can find them or KYB as the OEM shocks are typically KYB anyway and the pick up the lift kit for ride height.
