Pictures never help. Get a Toyota capable reader, read the codes and get back to us. No one will be able to help you from those pictures.

There is no program called Prius aware. He just meant get a code reader that can read Toyota specific codes, not just the generic emissions codes that cheap code readers read.

If you search around this site you will find what people are using

you need tech stream if you are going to diy. torque, elm and a few others all work about 90%, but you may need the 10%.
tech stream is available on amazon. you need a compatible laptop to run it. the others are phone apps.

for code info and troubleshooting, see the repair manual at tech info.toyota.com, or search online for a free copy.

i would start with a test of the 12v. they can be defective, or require a charge before installation.

once you have confirmed its goodness, it looks like P0AFA is related to a hybrid battery issue.

    rzk,
Let's back up to get a bit of history to figure out how we got to this point?

    - Have you had this car for a while and it just started having this problem?
    - Did it first have this problem while driving? Or did you simply come out one morning and it had this code?
    - Have you done any work with the hybrid battery before? Opening it up, removing it, etc.

hi? battery aux is charge. voltage is above 13

i inherited the car. it has been driven for about two months. no start. i replaced the aux battery
did it first have this problem while driving? i don't know. i got this car in this condition. not starting i don't have any more info about the car
no work to hybrid battery. i only changed the aux battery.

above 13 is unlikely. do you know how to do a voltage test?

i attached a trickle charger from the hood terminal. the trickle charger says aux battery fully charged volt is 13.

yeah, they aren't accurate. there's a surface charge giving an incorrect reading. you need to check it in the morning after

    So you wrote
"It has been driven for about two months"

Did you mean it has NOT been driven in two months?

If that is the case then the hybrid battery may be too low to start the car. That will be a big headache for you, as you will need some special equipment to get it up to the correct voltage.

You definitely need a few tools so you can share some data, like Hy rid battery State of Charge, high voltage battery block voltage, etc.

If you don't have diagnostic tools, then you can go old school and use a voltmeter. Bit that will involve quite a bit of dismantling the car.

I thought the same thing. He say he has never driven it in another post. He needs a mini VCI and a copy of Techstream. I don’t know what he’s pulling codes from but Techstream would give him all the codes and he could check the HV battery too. He says he bought a new 12v so that’s probably ok

Why did you start disassembling the hybrid battery? Maybe you messed with the Orange interlock switch on the battery and didn't lock it back into place?

Did you remove that when you installed the 12v battery? Anytime before the 12v battery change?
