Used for about 3 weeks, bought used from member unexpected who used them for about 2 months.
REVEL TOURING SPORT COILOVERS for 2016-2018 TOYOTA PRIUS - 1TR3CDTY004 - ProParts USA

Long story but I didn't like them. User sold to me with missing parts, obtained most of the parts, had to make a bushing for these and it worked. These are for a 2016 and up Prius, had them installed on my prime. Lost hundreds of dollars because it was missing parts, had to go back and forth to the shop several times and meet with the seller to get missing parts.

User unexpected offered a refund initially but took that back later down the line when I said that these were not working out. I get it.

The shop said that the back shocks were blown but I don't think they are, they rebound fine. It's either my complete ignorance or theirs. After more research, I think that these weren't made to handle the extra weight of the prime in the rears.

I had the front's on for about 2 weeks with the rear springs and stock shocks, rode great. Definitely not stock but great. The rears shocks gave me problems when I finally got them installed with the missing parts. I had these on for about half a day most driving around the block trying to tune them. They bottomed out right away on middle setting, even on hardest setting it was driveable but would bottom out over every bump. Took them out after half a day of trying different things. Stock shocks rode great with this setup though.

Took them out and now am riding on the RSR springs made for the Prime so now they're up for sale.

Sorry for the long story, just wanted full disclosure. Buyer will need to reseat preload and such. Shop had a hard time with the rears.

Will ship at buyer's expense. Will meet in the OC/LA area.

If in OC area, I can even help install if you have the tools.

    asking $500

Also moving so need these gone, as new place doesn't have a garage.

This is how they looked on the car, wasn't even that low yet. They go much lower.

Well that's unfortunate, he was pretty cool until I actually requested the refund that he had offered me, and then selling to me with missing parts, and then making me drive an hour and a half away to pick up the parts that he left missing but hey It is what it is.

    You live and you learn.

Still up for sale BTW if anyone is interested. Trying to avoid ebay and shipping.

There's some misinformation in this thread that I wanted to clarify.

How were you dodged? All PMs were replied to and info was provided accordingly. You mentioned you may need to switch out some parts to make them work. I referenced another brand that made a coilover kit with the same part number that fit the Gen4 and Prime and referenced a friend who had both a Gen4 and Prime who stated they were the same, and even mentioned "but I'll see if I can dig up more info."

I initially offered a refund due to the missing parts (and inconvenience to you) but you wanted to make it work. I provided the missing parts (the end links which you can sell separately) in a reasonable amount of time (due to you being out of town for a business trip) and offered to special order the missing bushing but you declined and said it was fine, that you'd custom make the piece (which you did). How is the location you chose out of your way when you're telling me it's by your work? You also mentioned you were planning to do the installation yourself and later telling me you've spent hundreds. Even I mentioned (when we originally met) if you've never done it before you may need a DIY thread or YouTube video for reference. The reason (as mentioned in the text) that I cannot do a refund is because you've already installed the coilovers on your car few times now. As we texted, they're no longer in my possession so I cannot be responsible for them due to the fact that I don't know what type of condition they are in now.

When we first met, again (as I have texted) I literally picked up one coilover and said, "usually people check for the rebound" as I pushed in the strut and it rebounded back. Then again when the shop first installed them, removed them, installed them again...were they not checked? The disclaimer I mentioned was they needed to be adjusted before they were installed.

In good faith I believed I was selling you a complete and quality product.

Please don't try to make me out to be a bad seller.

If you need help re-selling, I'll help spread the word.

I don't think I was making you out as a bad seller. As stated "I get it"

Yes, I wanted to make them work. I tried my best to make this work. But I figured the shop would do it faster and better than I could. I was being lazy.

I did say that "The shop said that the back shocks were blown but I don't think they are, they rebound fine. It's either my complete ignorance or theirs. After more research, I think that these weren't made to handle the extra weight of the prime in the rears."

I was stating facts. Did you sell to me with missing parts...yes. Did I have to drive hours...yes. Did you initially offer a refund...yes.

First, pick up I chose the location because it was halfway between us so it wouldn't be too bad for either of us, second pick up I asked you to drop them off closer to me and you said you couldn't. So yes I had to drive further when it was not my fault.

Yes, you provided the missing parts in a reasonable time, but that does not negate the fact that I had to spend hundreds of dollars extra at the shop because I had to come back because they were missing parts. I also had to spend hours more of my time driving to pick up the parts, meeting you halfway. Yes, I said I would make my own bushing and I did. Still, I said "I get it"

I definitely was not trying to make you out as a bad seller, definitely not my intentions. I was just stating "full disclosure" as I know priuschatters like the details.

I do not want to start a war here but I did state facts. unexpected is not a bad seller, he actually did more than a lot of other sellers would have done. I just had a bad experience with these coilovers.

    SOOOOOOO.... anyone interested?

    yes dodged.

Not as in ghosting my PM (as in not responsding to my PM)

yep you did respond but offered not so great answers to my questions.

I asked a question and got a typical answer saying your friend confirmed something a long those lines saying how it works for gen4. blah blah blah... don't care to go back to get in details.

that answer turned me off. something was up...

it wasn't worth my energy then. and won't be now.

I am hesiated to even type this out.

Hi all, I have been reading the postings here. Sounds like it has been worked out between you both. Just so you know, from my personal experience, any time I had custom shocks installed, it always wound up taking longer, costing more, and, in most cases, some type of extra modification had to be done. I've tried doing suspension work on my own, and I always wound up taking it to a shop to get it done right. That being said, I truly admire all those modders in here who have successfully installed custom suspensions on their own with it going from "box to car" with no issues!

The sweetess custom suspension work I had done was on my old 68 Stang! Dropped it 4 inches in the front, 2 inches in the back. Thick/wide tires in the back that just tucked into the wells (wound up putting in air shocks, rear end would drop too low when I punched it and the tires would scrape!). I also had thick wide tires in the front. Glossed blacked the stock rims, then accented the rims with beauty rings and then put moon hubcaps in the center. It was sweet.....................and fast. Built 302, Holley carb, racing tranny, chirped from first to second gear...........I miss that chirp sound!

Man, that sounds fun. I've done lots of work on cars myself, mostly imports, but now that I'm getting older, I don't have the time to spend on cars and obviously, I drive a Prius. It's mostly because I drive so far. Would love to have a car to play with again. One of these days...
