I got my Car Washed and detailed today and they must have used chemicals on the touchscreen and now my touch screen is messed up. [IMG]

Is there any way to fix this? I already called the car wash place and won't have it back in until tomorrow. *sigh*

Can you describe in more detail, how it's messed up?

It's a standard caution for cleaning computer monitors, to be very careful when spraying cleaners. Either go very light when spraying, and immediately start wiping, or just spray the cloth. What you don't want to happen is have a lot of spray, dripping down, beyond the bottom, shorting out connectors. This might have happened.

There's been numerous reports like this here, both from interior cleaning, and window tinting, which also uses a lot of soapy water spraying.

I'm not sure that the detail place is the best recourse now. If there's something definitely haywire, the dealership is a safer (albeit expensive) bet, then maybe go after the detailers for compensation.

    Addendum:

Hindsight is 20/20, but anyway: I would stay away from such places. If they don't short something out they might run down the battery. Safer to clean it yourself.

Same thing for engine bay: too many electrical connectors in there, don't get talked into pressure washing. It's cosmetic silliness, and could mess things up seriously.

No I left and had to comeback next day because I already left for work. But of course they denied they did it and claimed my screen was just "old." I'm so angry. But nothing I can do.

They used a cleanser on it. I tried to upload a photo here...
