    Yep, it's back.

I have to go by this afternoon to get them to pull the code to ensure that it's not something that would make it unsafe to drive.

But, they have assigned it to their #1 Hybrid Tech, and at this point he's the only guy they will let touch the car, and he's on vacation through the holiday weekend. So, assuming it's the same code, it won't get worked on again until next week. I guess it will be time to have them do the 40K service by then. I think I'll start measuring the repair time in thousands of miles instead of months :)

When they find the problem,it will probably be something simple. That's the way it usually goes with hair pulling probs, ;)

It may be simple but this has been going on far too long for my liking. I could not live without my car as much as the OP has. I would be looking into the Lemon Laws in the state. That might get Toyota moving.

Well, Thursday I had to drive down to Norfolk on business, and on the way back last night, the CEL went out.

I have to take it in for the 40K service this week anyway, but I'm going to bet the whole shop over there lets out a large sigh of releif if it doesn't come back on before then :p

Even though the CEL goes out, the code that caused it is still there. So you should still have them pull the codes to see if they're the same as those you had before.

Yep. My sister-in-law, who has more money than sense, fought Cadillac over a hard top convertible that would not close when the temp went above 80F. After multiple trips to the dealer where each time they claimed it was fixed the dealer declared her a "CUSTOMER THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE" and said he was blacklisting her from buying GM cars!!!! She responded by turning her attorney lose and the dealer ended up returning her full purchase price(she paid cash) $78,000 minus $100 per month for the 13 months she had the car.

Funniest part was the attorney did it gratis because he had trouble with the same dealer with his car and told her he just did it for the pure pleasure it brought him.
