Adjusted the car height again as it was riding very rough and my rear tire sidewalls were getting shaved from something. Now she’s riding like factory again and is slightly lower than before. Feels good to drive it low again.

What I did to it today was toss it around an autocross course, followed by my highest MPG yet drive home. Must have cleared out some crud!

What’s the time penalty for clipping a cone nowadays? Back then for San Francisco Region it was 2 seconds for each cone.

Continuing my sound deadening experimentation. Installed some dynamat deadener underneath the hood, then instead of reinstalling the OEM fiberglass cover, I put on Dynamat Hoodliner which basically is foam and thermal foil to protect the dynamat underneath from melting and absorbs some engine noise (supposedly)

Did a quick test drive in my neighborhood, the engine noise at higher rpm and braking regen noise is minorly reduced, but at least you can notice a difference. I mainly wanted to reduce wind noise on highway with the Dynamat deadner to strengthen the metal - hopefully see some improvement there. Hood noise is not a huge problem, but after I deadened the doors and trunk, the engine and hood wind noise became a bit more noticeable.

Finally washed the car, vacuumed the interior and cleaned the windows. Found a whole bunch of little dents and nicks from people hitting my car with their car doors as they exit their vehicles when parked next to me. I'll have to wet sand and wax them to repair all the little nicks. Took the family out to eat and was pretty anti social in the parking lot. Lol IMG_4175.JPG

Installed the Tema4x4 40mm spring spacer lift in the rear. Dreading doing the front. Might not even bother since the point of the lift was to help prevent my hitch bike rack from scraping on inclines and having the car raked forward like this puts the rack at a better angle.

Still want to put larger (205/75r15) tires on to gain another 1" of ground clearance, not sure if I really want to futz with ATs, maybe just get some Kumho TA11s in that size... IMG_20190526_183731_667.jpg

I worked on cleaning the AC evap because the car was smelling musty. Come to find out the evap drain tube was ripped in half and draining inside the car making it smell. Has anyone else seen this happen?!

I got a smoking deal on Katzkin leather from eBay (under $200 shipped!) and reupholstered my seats this weekend. Still have to do the trim pieces, I’m very happy with how the seats came out though. It was a lot of work and my hands are killing me! Definitely doable if you’re adventures and handy. I’m thinking they will smooth out over the next few weeks, but they still look great and feel amazing. So much more inviting and comfy vs the softtex seats. And i thought the 250 eBay deal for all gray was a deal! Nice find!. I still need to do the front seats, trim, and console. The pieces next to the rear seats have thin foam padding but the kit is just leather. I'd be interested in how you tackle that. Just put the leather over the old? Tear off the old and put just leather? Or try to find similar thickness foam and put new foam and then leather....winder how the pro's do it?

Still a score! Mine was $160 plus $30 shipping.

Good point about the rear trim, I think I'll try to cover the old fabric with the leather. Same with the door panels, I found a write up and he kept the fabric on for more padding.

After nearly causing arthritis to my fingers, I found out that if I had sat the covers out in the sun for awhile prior to installation, it would have gone much easier!
