I have a roof rack I bought second hand for my Prius III 2010. I have now sold that Prius, so I intend to sell my roof rack. However, I only tried to mount this roof rack onto my Prius III 2010 one time, and it seemed not to really fit. But I was not really sure. So now, before selling it, I thought I should be better at checking if it really is for a 2010 as the person who sold it to me said, or if it is for a Prius II (2003-2009).

So this is a shout out to you who happen to have roof rack for your Prius II or III, to see if you can see these numbers stamped in to the metal parts of your roof rack (which I think is individual article numbers of details of the rood rack)

For both the fron and rear rack: 112061

For the four different adjustable grips, different numbers: 117759, 117760, 117761, 117762

I would be so glad to know how to advertise the rack so that I can attract a buyer :)

    Thanks in advance!

Did you check the label on the box?

With the part number, look it up on the web for that roof rack manufacturer (or call them) and you'll find out exactly which vehicle(s) it fits.

Thank you! The manufacturer is Toyota, but unfortunately Toyota’s article name is for the whole rack set, not for the individual parts. And the parts are only marked with their separate article numbers.

I bought it second hand from a seller who had not kept the box. I was at that moment not hesitant as to whether it fit mine or not, so I did not bother. It was a good price.

Silly question but, are you certain this is OEM Toyota? I did a quick search by those part numbers and it keeps coming up as Thule. Are there any other identifying numbers?

Typically, if a roof rack for a 'naked' roof (roof without sunroof or roof rails) the mounts rely on a 'foot kit'. Rubber 'foot' that attaches to the base of the mount, that rests on the car. It will curve specific to each vehicle. Its very possible that yours was for another car which is why it doesnt seem to fit correctly.

Good point. I would pack that thing in the car, head down to the nearest shop who sells that type of thing (typically ski shops, bike shops, sporting goods, etc.), show them what you've got and ask them if they have a solution.

Thats what my buddy did. Picked up a rack from a garage sale. Turned out to be a Rhino rack. Picked up a new foot kit and it has used it ever since.

The design of these ones are not Thule. They look almost exactly as the ones I had on my Camry 2002 and that I bought new for my 2019 Prius PHEV. The rubber foots are there, and they basically matched my now sold 2010 Prius. But when fiddling with them I was not really satisfied with the fit. I do not remember how much of a misfit there was, but enough for me to ’try it another day’. That other day never came, since I sold the car.

Anyhows, my question goes to someone who happens to have OEM racks, to check their numbers. The numbers will either match an OEM roof rack for a II or III Prius.

True. The only ones selling OEM roof racks in Sweden are Toyota dealers, but I am pretty sure they would only look inte the accessories database, just like I do, and find the article number for the full set, rubber feet, bars, and all.

I had hoped at least one person here had an OEM roof rack for a Prius II or III to compare the numbers with.
