I’m dying to have Car Play in my Prius. Are there any screen options that would fit into the same slot of the current screen to replace it that would:

    1) keep all the same hardware controls beside the screen (including steering wheel controls) as well as energy controls.

    2) be wireless car play since I have the Prius Qi charging mat.

Can’t seem to find this anywhere nor anyone that has even installed a car play screen in their 2016 Prius.

BeatSonic makes a Apple Car Play hack that attaches to the existing head unit. screen mirroring and all - although not wireless.

It mirrors your iPhone. So, the MFD screen is your iPhone screen. Mine also has an override switch so that it can be used while in motion. Go to the site and ask your questions...

Thanks for the recommendation, but it’s not what I’m looking for at all. Hopefully there’s some Car Play options available out there.

I believe most any 2 DIN head unit will that has CarPlay should fit in the Prius. I've found the Crutchfield site most helpful for figuring out what fits and what adapters/wiring harnesses you need. Here's one I've been looking at for my 2010 Prius (or even a 2019 if I get a new one soon):

You can definitely find ones cheaper. This one does wireless CarPlay and is pretty much top of the Pioneer line.
