Humming noise from front of car

    I have a low humming noise coming from the front of the car, 2008 Prius, 127,000 miles. It is only noticeable at speeds over 25mph, then seems to go after 35mph, I've coasted in neutral and the noise is still there, more noticeable when decelerating. Tyres are 3 years old, about 4mm tread left, all matching Falken all the way around. I've jacked the car up and no movement in both front wheels, so at a loss.

    Does anyone have nay ideas at all? Thanks.

    I also believe that the noise disappears when turning right, can’t guarantee it though, front left bearing possibly?

    My first guess (and it is a guess) would be a wheel bearing. While most Prii never lose a bearing, that is one of the more frequent repairs. I'd raise the front end, put it in neutral and spin the wheels to see if I could feel anything. You might not feel movement unless it's really shot, but you might feel a slight vibration when rotating the wheel.

    Thanks for that, I’ll jack the car up at some point and give that a go. The noise isn’t very noticeable, so hoping that if it is the bearing it’s in the very early stages, but will give it a go regardless.
