    I was able to find this photo which they did a Red Bullet comparison test using a Toyota Yaris to do a 0-100km/h acceleration.

    X axis is time
    Y axis is speed
    Red number is Red Bullet performance 13sec
    Green number is OEM solenoid performance 17sec
    The test was conducted by half throttle position.

    Yes the red line shows that the vehicle was able to get to 100km/h in 13 sec instead of 17 sec.

    Half throttle is the only way you'd see this kind of improvement, since you're hitting the power band at that throttle, effectively making it seem like you're using more throttle.

    At wide open the improvement is much much smaller, so I'd say that graph is very disingenuous, since they're picking the one and only time you'd see that kind of difference. In the real world you'll either be adding more throttle or less, missing that activation point altogether.

    That having been said, based on my experience it does make a difference however small. So until someone figures out how I can slap a turbo on this car I'll take what I can get.

    Hi Chip,

    I totally agree with you on half the throttle testing method, the WOT jumps the VVT-i right into the power power power regardless of speed. Half throttle can be bias unless they have a way to deliver the same amount of impute everytime with absolute consistency.

    I think what they were trying to distinguish was real life events with half throttle application meeting the needs of general users. This test results were taken from there video which was coupled to the product below, its not from us or the manufacture.

    There might be a product that might interest you. Its not from my company, its someone from Taiwan made a bypass control module for the VVT-i.
    It takes in throttle control signal and splice into the VVT-i signal cable together with ICU signal. It has 3 stage performance preset and possible for customization. It has ECO, normal, and full on sport algorithms.

    It is a bit advanced for all of us to install on a regular basis. But it might be able to prove worthy on the track, before we come up with a turbo for the engine for you.

    That sounds incredible, I'll shoot you a message and see if I can get hold of one of these and do some semi scientific testing on it.

    Re: The graph

    I think the take away from the graph should not be "MASSIVE IMPROVEMENT" as the chart may appear to show, but proving the device does work as advertised. I've noticed the same improvement at similar throttles as shown in the graph, it moves you power band a little lower, giving you a bit more pep. Since that's exactly what I was looking for it was a perfect fit for me, and matches my drag strip run improvements. I wish I had a better way to test it other than some drag runs and feeling it working, since we all know how well the butt dyno works.

    Yeah...agreed, oil is the blood line for keeping things lasting a while in our toys, including our bike chains. :)

    Guys! Fun fact. I was just browsing the web and saw this video which they put a regular Corolla and a hybrid Corolla side by side with the air condition on for 24 hours. At idle for 24 hours! Please see the results below!

    So the math adds up to 1.14l/h on the regular and 0.32l/h on the hybrid!
    Guess if it gets cooking this summer and you are out camping... get one of those inflatable sleeping sets that go in the back of your hybrid. Screenshot_20190626-013327.jpg

    Actually, some friends and I just returned from a weekend at Zion National Park in Utah with "Clementina!" We camped on a state land, about a mile in! I am very sure that the Red Bullet, the Injen air filter, and the throttle controller came in handy when having to climb hills and paths on and offroad!     All dirt road 1 mile in??? Did you rub or hit anything on the underside? How would you know if the terrain was flat and smooth enough to traverse in advance?

    Honestly, I just went for it! Fortunately, we drove just far enough to make our planned camp site. We considered going further, up a hill, but the path became way too rugged and rocky. God bless!

    I had driven "Clementina" every other week on an offroad path from Jan. to May to make shooting practice at one of my team's ranges. I kind of figured how the car works, and got a feel of which paths to take as I began driving down the state land. I learned that the best paths to take were right beside previously laid tracks, not in them; this raises your underside from coming in contact with most bumps. 20190622_073112.jpeg

    It was awesome! You could see all of the stars and the Milky Way as soon as the sun passed the mountains! In daylight, I was amazed by the juxtaposition of countless combinations of textures and colors seen in Zion's vast landscape. I will definitely be back!

    Of course I was very much equipped for S.H.T.F. stuff! Lolol

    The milky way! I still need to see that!
    My eyes are really bad from all the studying and lab work doing everyting close up.

    I hope to see it one day. I lived in Vancouver most of my stay in North America, it rains way too much to see the sky there. It is going to be on my bucket list! Going to take my kid to see it too! Make the world seem so much larger and cooler for her! I'll be sure to be well equipped too Wild!

    Hey all. Well...as promised, i got the VVTI filter changed and just wanted to share with everyone how it went and some tips. Sorry for the delay in getting this out there to yas.
    As you probably already know....8mm hex socket works best. The shorter the better. The hex part of mine was long...so i went to the grinder and shaved that baby down...wasnt going to get this far to just be stopped by a hex head length. We take no prisoners. Lol. So...what i found most helpful when changing out the VVTI and the filter was to remove 3 things:
    1. the top right clip that holds the electrical line immediate to the right of the oil dip stick. It's attached to the air filter and thats easy to clip off. Squeeze the ends and gently pull out.
    2. The clip to the left of the dip stick, which is a little tricky. Just get a tiny flathead screwdriver to get to the bottom end of the clamp and push it up so u get the bottom released, then just get the top clamp.
    3. Remove the screw holding the oil dipstick in place. It's to the left of the stick. WD40 it a little because mine was tough. Once removed u can move the dipstick just enough to get to the VVTI and filter much easier...just done move the dipstick too much.
    The VVTI filter was not wanting to be bothered at all. Lol. Spray it with WD40 just a little, let it soak in. I used a long handled, fixed socket wrench and attached the hex to that. Then i used the back end opening of a bigger wrench to just get more leverage to pry it loose. I advise a breaker bar or rig something like i did to give u leverage. When loose, just be careful as u take the screw out b/c the filter may not be attached securely to the inside of the screw like it should be. Mine was immaculate, but i changed it and the washer anyway. The washer was stuck on the screw, so i just sharpened a small flathead and preyed it off, cleaned the inside of screw good, put new washer on, stuck new filter in the screw, then carefully got it back in its home. Reconnected everything and good to go.
    Hope that helps u guys if u wanna do this. Really rather simple...just tight spots and ya gotta go slow to avoid dropping things. Lol. (y)

    Now that is a mint filter. Good maintenance and OEM or better oil is the trick along with a top tier oil filter such as the royal purple .
