So I live in Sumter South Carolina and my sister lives up in Fredericksburg Virginia.

First picture is the round trip there and back second picture is once I got onto the highway from Fredericksburg to Sumter South Carolina I reset to get my highway mileage. Last picture is starting in Fredericksburg Virginia going to back to Sumter South Carolina.

I'm pretty certain if I did it just right, I could get 70 maybe 75 miles to the gallon with an average speed of 65 behind a trailer and 60 when not behind a trailer.

Thanks, in a few days I will have an update for my try at 70+ mpg highway hypermiling run. I am super excited! I will be modding either this prius or an advanced plugin to go for 1000 mpg highway.

unfair with a plug in, since you can manipulate mpg with electrons

If you were to not have the plug-in charged - like drive it as a PRIUS - what sort of economy do you get?

of course, it depends on your driving. i would say 65-70 around town, 60-65 on the highway at 55mph. all in moderate weather.
and i understand the prime to be even better

I don't mind sitting behind a trailer - here they'll often slow (more economical) for hills a little, just like hypermiling - but I put the RADAR Cruise on the furtherest setting with a truck - windscreens (and paint) are too expensive.

This is from a gen 4 two model non-plugin. I meant to say I maybe getting a plugin later to mod it with more batteries.

Buy windscreens do you mean windshields?

    Yes - it was @bisco who has a Plug In - 2012.

I'm not sure that it's straight-forward to mod with more batteries - there has been some chat about it, but I haven't heard anyone doing it successfully. Probably better to trade-up to a PRIUS PRIME.

We don't recognize windscreens in the USA. Just like tyre, petrol, bonnet, and boot.

Yeah, don't slipstream a truck. Especially if its one that loads and unloads gravel from a quarry, you will regret it with a cracked windshield. The Prius gets good gas mileage without having to do that.

Gravel trucks with dual rear wheels can have a rock lodged between the 2 - when it is up to speed, it will fly off at approx the speed the truck is driving.

That may have been what took out the side triangle window of my then-new Subaru. From a flatbed truck carrying oilfield-like equipment, passing me on I-70 west of Rifle, in Colorado. I saw two such rocks depart the truck and bounce on the lane divider, so I pulled right enough to avoid them.

Either that wasn't enough, or there was a third unseen rock, which struck the left side mirror and exploded the glass. Zillions of glass fragments everywhere inside the vehicle, in every interior vent and pocket and cupholder. Numerous blood seeps on the back of my left hand (several glass slivers fell out over the next few days), spouse had scratched cornea and a significant pit in one lens of her eyeglasses.

Had I not noticed and drifted right first, it would have hit the windshield instead of mirror, and then possibly impacted my upper chest. And I'd no longer be active on PC.

No ID of the offending truck. That was my first impetus to install dashcams.

I originally believed that the rocks fell off the flatbed, but later learned of this wedged-between-dualies problem.

I know it’s counter intuitive but use power mode in traffic. Drops your consumption figures by quite a lot.
