I'm sorry this topic has been addressed a thousand times here, but none quite answer my question...

I have a 2005 Prius with Package 3 (single in-dash CD player) and want to connect a generic mp3 player. Don't need screen display or control - just an Auxillary input. (The FM transmitter option is driving me crazy with the noise, fading etc.). I've been thru all the postings and read many of the distributers web sites, product specs and compatability lists, but still can't definitively say which of the many products will work for this vehicle.

Could somebody help me out? Thanks!

Unfortunately you don't have that many options. I know that narf cut a wire and installed a plug. Because it ran at the same time as the CD, he put in a blank CD. The problem with that was that it was with the JBL system. If you have the JBL you'd have the cassette player so you could use a cassette adapter. :(

I use a DICE for my AUX, but that was only after I decided to get an iPod and replace my old MP3 player. I use the DICE's AUX for my portable XM radio. It's about the cheapest you can go, without changing the radio itself.

Yeah, I'm using the DICE unit to plug my non-iPod mp3 player using the AUX Input. If anything, the bass is stronger without changing anything. With CD or radio, turning up the bass means getting muddier and muddier thumps.

The only cheap method I see is to use a cassette tape adapter. If you do use the Dice iPod integrator, I have found that the aux port does not come in all that clear. I am hoping a ground loop isolator will fix the problem (about $17).

I have a 2005 Prius with standard stereo and have been using the PAC AUX-BOX for over a year now with no problems. It requires two cables, the AB-TOY and the AB-TOYT.

EXCELLENT!!! This is what I needed to hear before ordering something. You have a 2005 with standard radio and the PAC system works! Thanks!

Is it Package #3? Is the radio in Package #3 different to #1??? do not know.
