    IMG_2702.jpeg Hey everyone!

A bit late for an intro as I bought the car in January but here I am. I picked up a CPO 2013 Prius 3 with 47k from a local dealer for $13500. I come from a family of Saabs, BMWs, and (mainly) Volvos so I was a bit skeptical of driving something non euro. My last two cars were Volvos and I loved them to death but the maintenance was driving me crazy! That being said, I took a chance on this Prius and I'm HOOKED! My fuel costs went from $350 a month to ~$100 a month. The car sits around 61k today and it hasn't given me any issues at all. I've already used it to help friends move, I've slept in it, I've taken it on trips, and it always does exactly what I need it to as efficiently as possible. In the city I've seen as high as 65 MPG and I can squeeze out 50 no problem on the highway. Driving this car is such a joy (and it doesn't hurt that it looks sweet too!).

    Welcome to PriusChat!

Nice ride! Love the aftermarket rims that some of the GST dealers put on some of the Gen 3s. It definitely helped improve the looks.

In May, 2018, I bought a 2010 with 53,000 on it. Now it's at 68,000. It runs well, drives well, and so far, I've put a set of tires on it, and replaced the headlamps when one went out, but that's about it other than two oil changes and air and cabin filters. It has 17" wheels with the wider tread stance, so mileage is a few MPG lower than the ones with 15" wheels (as is the mileage on the 2009 Touring Edition I gave my son).

My wife drives a 2015 Prius v wagon that we bought the same week as my 2010. We had each been driving 2009s, which we gave to our twins. One of those has 169,000 and the other has 184,000 miles. They have had some repairs, but nothing I would call major. Both are running on original high voltage batteries, and get essentially the same mileage as when new.

Needless to say, we are absolutely sold on these cars. They last a very long time with comparatively low maintenance. They hold a lot of stuff, repairs are rare and reasonably priced (especially at third party garages!), and they've taken considerably hard use without issues. Operating costs are among the lowest of any passenger cars made. We will probably replace them with more Priuses when the time comes.
