Man I'm so sorry you having that problem at least my Prius Prime premium 2017. I guess one Mark I can see but other than that my car has held up well over the years. I think you're right I think they screwed up your paint job. You should go to the dealership and talk to them about it.

You guys ever think about a clear wrap? It's a sacrificial wrap that prevents damage to your car's paint.

Keeping seconds of distance works well, and at any speed. I like 4 seconds: it's a longish following distance, which means I can often avoid needing to touch the brakes when there's a slowdown, and if anyone wants to pass, they've got an inviting space in front of me.

 

I’ve had the Paint Protection film on my Prime as a factory option. So when I picked it up it was already applied. I must say, it does cut down on a crap load of not just chips, but bugs hits as well. They wash right off. In fact it cuts it down so much my wife wanted it installed when she picked up her NXh. In hind sight we should have had them put it on.

I had exactly the same issue with my Blue Magnetism. It is chipping on the front hood. Initially thought it was damage caused by car wash, but a friend told me it looks like a rock hit. I am seeing the white underneath.

Is there a way to fix this area.

 

So I’m an engineer too. So in my best, non technical, non scientific opinion ... the paint on my metallic red Prime Advanced is the most problematic I've ever had.

Who really knows how many rocks have hit you? But the seemingly lightest little brush ups against it cause damage.
