In case anyone ever needed to know, the Gen 3 key fob can withstand at least one cycle in the washing machine. LoL I think it actually improved the range of it a little bit.

I assume you didn't test it in the dryer?

No, I didn’t. :ROFLMAO: There was no need to. There was not enough water in it to even make a fuss about, which I found surprising.

Solid state so not completely surprised. You can wash (some) motherboards in a dishwasher.
Did you open it up? The battery and contacts should be checked. Think I'd replace the battery.

Yes, I opened it up and found four droplets of water on the paper towel I laid it down on.

Plus, it probably smells Downy fresh now, so that's a benefit.

It happened to me about 5 years ago. Opened it up, took it apart, ran alcohol over it, let it dry. After putting back together, it was fine.

I've washed my Town & Country's remote twice. It does have a rubber seal.
No problems and didn't need to replace the battery.
I never washed the one for the Prius. It would cost too much for a new one so I guess
    I pay more attention! :)
