I used to do a single tap on horn but now it’s happening everyday so often I just hold down the horn til they actually accelerate when they’re in front. I have a dash cam rolling so it’s funny when it startles the hell out of them, hellahornmod needed.

Sounds Good!....Except, around my area, 75% of vehicles have blacked/out windows (yes, including drivers side window).....you can't even tell if there is a driver behind the wheel......let alone tell which way he's looking!

Which is one of the reasons dark tints are dangerous, particularly in climates where they are unneeded.

The tinting rate here is much much lower.

We don't even need to see what is in their hand, if anything. Many texters are 'careful' to hold their devices below the window beltline, so Officer Not-So-Friendly won't actually see it.

Checking for head up or down, and swiveling to the sides or not, are generally sufficient.

Canada has some of the most polite drivers you could ever share a road with.

Question, out of all your driving in the last six months were you around Lapeer county on the 4th of July weekend? Probably not. The pickup trucks were out in full force and they were road bullies and a few of them looked like they had a little too much America that weekend. I rarely notice them but I did that weekend. I adapt quickly though, I just drive about 82 to 83 and dominate the fast lane. Over there at that speed they didn't bother me.

So I was driving down a country road and a pick-up truck was right on my rear. I was driving exactly the posted speed limit at an rate. I remembered this thread and how I should make it easy for the people to pass. There was no shoulder on the road so I did my best to get over, rolled my window down and waved the guy ahead. He stopped behind me. Revved his engine super loud and roasted his tires past me really pissed off.

Just want to say, I won't ever do that again.

Why not? He got past and each of you went on your way. If he does a burn out, that's no impact to you.

I don't want to damage my hearing, or put myself in a position where I'm subjected to an aggressive driving maneuver.

The guy was a mook and you gotta just chuckle at these people.

If you haven't done what you've done, then at some point he would have done a similar or more dangerous maneuver without your knowledge or expectation (but with more pent up anger). You did the right thing and I hope you continue to do that sort of thing.

Personally I'd like to see better policing and more education. The system has failed these people at some point but that won't stop me from chuckling when they behave this way.

Well, develop a better policing plan that works with the budget, taxes, population acceptance, etc. and propose it to your local authorities. It's easy to wish for better policing, it's not nearly as easy to cover every inch of NY state with a pair of snitch eyes.

I don't think it's up to "the system" to control human behavior. There will always be badly behaved people.

If he was better educated I think he would have handled the situation better. I guess there's the old saying you can't fix stupid but I don't know I just can't give up on people. I always wonder if some mentor had just reached this mook in his formative years maybe he would have taken up math or reading and developed his mind more.

If your dash speed-o-meter matches the speed limited sign & have 15" wheels, you're still 2 mph slower than the actual speed therefore it will drive them bonkers.

I remember one of your previous posts stating this, so I try to go two over or so. I was probably going about 48MPH in a 45MPH road.

No mentor needed, just a ticket from a cop for tailgating.
