Since the pack as a whole acts like the lowest capacity cell it's more like keeping the weakest cell as strong as it can be.

It actually only seems like it is at everywhere at all times electricity has a speed it happens to be the speed of light

I am also talking about what electrons are doing which is the more important factor in a battery then the watts applied to the battery.

What I think is going on with charge and discharge is 2 fold and probably the word balance might be a sufficient word for it.

1 the reversible damage lowering capacity is due to crystals building up. The complete charge and discharge sends electrons through both ways across the plates disrupting the crystals.

2 charging from complete discharge stores more electrons at a higher voltage giving more useable electrons. This is where balancing would make sense. Having the cells more balanced set of electrons stored at higher voltage.

Another way to visualize it is pushing on a stick. You push this end, that end moves. The whole stick moves pretty much at once.

"Pretty much at once" ≠ "exactly at once", or even quite at the speed of light, in most cases. There is a velocity of propagation. Give a nudge to one electron at one end of a wire, and the next one will move, because the first one got a smidge closer and repelled it, and so on all down the line. The one at the far end will move almost immediately, but if you could slow it down enough, you'd see the nudge propagating along the electrons all down the wire.

You can look up velocity factors for different types of wire. For instance, in cat 5e network cable, it's about 64 percent of the speed of light.

Actually I was trying to talk about charging not discharging.

Though I haven't actually shuffled modules around (or within a pack), I have heard of such and am open to the idea as a whole.

Please enlighten me with your explanation of the order in which the "modules" should be placed back into a pack and why.
