So I'm looking for a 3rd gen Prius '12-'15 with leatherette, roof, the works, etc. & I'm seeing a lot with the black hubcap. I'm not sure if this is part of the wheel assembly because it looks like it's a part of the wheel, but I prefer the silver one instead. The black ones just look like they're spare tires mounted on all 4 to me.

What's the part number for the silver one if it exists?

I attached a picture for reference.

    Thank you

But the black part on the wheel is that a wheel cover/hubcap or is that the actual wheel?

Silver part is the hubcap, snaps on/off. On the photo, right image, is the actual black wheel w/o hubcap. Not all Prius turd gen wheel color will be black :)

Get the 2012-15 hubcaps, in my opinion those look best.

Here's what comes up: 2012-2015 Toyota Prius 61167 Wheel Cover Hubcap 14" Silver OEM 4260247060 | eBay . I don't see holes for the lug nuts to connect to the way like in the way it does in my original image.

2010-2011 Prius have silver wheels underneath silver wheel covers. 2012-2015 have black wheels under silver wheel covers.

    2010-2011:

All 3rd gen Prius with 17" wheels look like this (trim Five [2010-2011] or 5 [2012-2015]):

    ...except for the Persona (2013?-2015):
...which had a gunmetal version of the Five/5 wheels, and...

    ...the Prius Plus package:
...which got their own special wheels.

And, of course, the PiP had its own 15" wheels too:

You'll find many people also put Scion FR-S wheels on their Prius, as those wheels are the same dimensions as the 17":

The holes for the lugnuts don't appear on the wheel covers because they are on the wheel behind it.

    That's really informative thanks!

I'm getting the 15" wheels most likely (Prius 4 2012-2015), and like the plug in's wheels. In that pic you linked, are those the wheel caps on the PIP, or is that the actual wheel? If it's a wheel cap, will it fit on the regular '12-'15 Prius 15" wheel?

It's the actual wheel; no wheel covers on the PiP.

So why are there so many sellers including Toyota dealers selling this car with the black wheel? I've seen literally dozens of 3rd gen '12-'15 without the silver wheel cap.

I managed to cadge a set of 15" plug-in rims, much better looking. Yet to use them though.

The utilitarian alloy with wheel cover nonsense is for the birds. And yeah as of 2012 they went to black alloys, ugh.

FWIW our Canadian Touring came with the (nice looking) 17" rims.

Classic Silver Metallic (1F7) is a match for all but persona.

Curb rashes I say. Hubcaps are optional, if theyre banged up, git rit of'em. No need to buy new ones, won't increase car value.

You can get knock-off Toyota centre caps for around $20~30 for the set. The ones I got required a little Dremel work to sit properly, but meh.

Agree, the plug-ins wheel look much easier on the eyes.

Persona, never like them. Figured with a name and it's own badge "persona", it would be better than package 5 or even 4. Not even the case.

Because many owners prefer the black wheels, and intentionally get rid of the plastic covers. Then don't have them available to reinstall when they sell the car.

Yup, actual wheel. I picked up a take-off set of PiP wheels for my regular Liftback as my second set for the seasonal tire rotation pattern. When the PiP set goes on, the factory covers go into the storage shed with the factory wheels.

This has to be your favorite thread, with seeing those silver hub caps :p.

The PIP rims getting ready for their maiden voyage on the garage queen this winter:whistle:?

Or will they be shrine bound again in the name of domestic bliss:love:.

We stayed with 17" for all-seasons, replaced the rubber this spring, so I guess whenever the 15" snows expire I'll use PIP rims through winter. Maybe I'll dub them "aged out" this fall, not sure.

Yep. Bought our 2012 used and the previous owner did provide the wheel covers but we prefer the black wheels so the covers are just taking up space. PM if you need to buy a set. :p
