Seems like a solid deal to me. I've been searching for a premium and that's about as good as it gets right now. So, unless Toyota increases the current $3500 rebate next month, you are good to go.

Have there been any pricing success stories for the 2020 Prime yet? They are only just now coming into stock in my area and I'm being told that an XLE will be $500 over MSRP and that there are no incentives of any kind yet. I really need one ASAP to replace my Gen II so I'm wondering if I might have to pay the penalty for getting one early on in their production.

I went for 3500 rebate and dealer discount for 2019 and thought paying more for 2020 with middle back seat is not worth it.
car will be dead slow with 5 adults. I got below 25k OTD for Blizzard Pearl Prime plus. ventura county sale tax 7.25%

Orangeville Ontario area. checked 6 dealers within a hundred kms. All were within a hundred bucks of one another. None would budge on price. Picked a dealer that had on in stock (Barrie Ontario) $36,950 out the door. Chatted at 9am, drove away at 4pm.

That's an okay price. Our price back in early June was $25,343 for a Premium with only $2500 rebate. Ours had options though. Hypersonic Red and the all weather mat package, together they added about $600. For a Premium without options and the $3500 rebate, I'd be looking for a price around $24K.

I agree with that. I think they can go lower to about 24k for 2019 premium. Only thing I am noticing is that color options are becoming limited. There are a ton of titanium glows and silvers. The color options are making me feel I need to do a deal soon but I am also very curious about what incentives there are in August and if dealers are more apt to do deals then.

I would prefer a Titanium Glow Advanced (or Limited), just waiting to see if cash back gets bigger, or when the incentives start shifting to the 2020 models

Looks like cash back held @ $3500 until after Labor Day. I'm holding out, but also considering a regular Prius with AWDe due to my longer commute and location of my work being affected by snow once in a while.

AWDe would be nice in my neck of the woods also. The problem is, the regular Prius with AWDe may wind up costing you a lot more - no cash back from Toyota and no Federal/State tax incentives. I was considering a Gen4 Prius when I bought my 2017 Prime, but the difference with those incentives figured in brought the Prime down over $10,000 below what the Gen4 would have cost me!

Not bad for a 2020. I didn’t think they’d even be on sale this early. But I would miss the Remote Services.

Yes, I've got no problem playing the waiting game either for the right deal. Do you think if I wanted a year from now to get a 2020 on a discount that they 4500 tax credit would be exhausted or reduced?

That's 100% accurate. It would be very hard to justify the total cost difference.

The federal tax credit will not be exhausted by then. The only fear would be congress passing a bill that would alter or expire the tax credit but I do not see that happening in the current political climate during an election year. The President has indicated he wants to end these types of subsidies, but he thankfully can't do it alone.

For a 2020, I doubt you'll see deep discounts in the summer of next year. We're seeing this now on the 2019 because of the early 2020 roll out. I wouldn't expect deep discounts on 2020 models until November - December next year at the earliest.

Hi! New poster, reoccurring lurker that would love your thoughts on this 2020 XLE price:

I'm in So Cal and was quoted $28,600 on a 2020 XLE Grey Metallic (MSRP $30,893). Total out the door is $31,853 registered in LA county. Should I continue to push for a lower cost?

Seems to be a very good deal and they likely will not go lower. It doesn't hurt to try though. The worst is they'll say, "No." At this time, the 2020s simply are not being discounted like the remaining new 2019 cars. I purchased my 2020 about three weeks ago and negotiated $2,000 off MSRP on a Limited and that was essentially "the bottom". I had engaged about 15 dealers and they were all within a couple hundred dollars of each other.
