Yes, probably half dozen times in 5 years and a couple times at work when I had thought I had turned it off but, hit the park button. Typically, I would remain in the car a couple minutes doing something else before getting out of the car and forget to hit the power button. More recently, I bought a Model 3 which doesn’t require you to do anything to turn the vehicle off. It does it automatically because it’s tied to your phone. I’ve gotten so used it, that I’ve forgotten to turn off the Prius and our Volt more frequently. It just happens when you have vehicles that are electric or hybrid that shut off the engines when parked. You lose that sound element of the engine running.

If this happens when your car is parked in a garage attached to the house it can have deadly results.

That's one more reason to always lock your car when leaving it. (It will not lock and beep at you if it is still in Ready mode). No, neither my wife nor I have ever left our Gen 2 or Gen 4 Prii "running" (Ready mode) all night.

I left my Gen3 on for about 45 minutes after parking at a loud street festival and didn't/couldn't hear the warning beeps as we walked off.

I recently left my Cmax and Clarity on overnight on purpose to sleep in them during a multi-day power outage this summer.

Nope....but I did arrive at one of our larger Central Offices one night at oh-dark-thirtry, and there happened to be a G3 idling in the parking lot with the AC blowing and the interior light on.
The CO was completely empty and it was pretty obvious that one of the engineers left the car without shutting it down because...
    (a) Well....they're engineers.
    (b) Technician's cars all have GPS/GMS trackers in them, and there would have been immediate and strident SMS and email messages screaming about why the company''s idling policies are being flagrantly violated.....

....Since it was about 0200, I did the 'responsible' thing....

I relocated the car and then shut it down and locked it up.
It was in the same office when I got done - so I'm sure they found it...:D

    ....eventually.

Mine when brand new ran for a few hours till I did the check the cars alarm roundup before bed. That's when I learned you must always arm the alarm every single time you park it even and especially in the garage because you cant arm the alarm when the car is in READY.

I have a Co2 alarm above the car area in the garage too.
