Found these wheels with 215/55/17. I assume that I won’t be able to drive with this size tire, but will the rims fit the stock 205/50/17 for my Prius?

For $300, I wanted to put some winter tires.

    Thanks in advance!

If they're compatible I'd be inclined to swap them for the OEM (use the OEM for snows); they look sweet.

The size and lug pattern are right (4.5”/114.3mm). No idea on the backspacing. We run 225/50R17 tires on our v Five, so size-wise, these should be compatible. Have to check the speedo correction factor.

The Wheels and Caps website doesn't show an offset for the 17" Prius v wheels but it's probably the same as for the 16" Prius v wheels which it says is 39mm. It shows the offset for those Lexus ES wheels as being 40mm so they should work fine.

If I had a do-over, I would buy the 16" Prius v wheels for winter use and buy wheel centers for them on eBay instead of buying 16" steel wheels and hubcaps. Regardless, there is a better selection of winter tires at a lower cost in 205/60-16 than in 215/50-17. 16" wheels also provide a cushier ride over rougher winter roads.

Wheels and Caps is currently selling refurbished OEM 16" Prius v wheels for $134.67:

The refurbished OEM wheels I bought from Wheels and Caps for our Sienna in 2014 were absolutely like new and still are in excellent condition after five winters.

Going to check them out today. Does $300 sounds like a fair price?

Just remember they are seven inch wide rims, so don't expect to put narrow section skins on them, as some do with winter tires.

Use narrower, smaller diameter rims (with appropriate snow tires) for winter, and the wider, dressier rim for all seasons.

I'm thinking the potential purchase rims are head-and-shoulders above the OEM's for looks.

Can you get 16" OEM's on some level? Or a steel Camry rim? Something like that I would use for snows, with appropriate taller/narrower snow tire.

No, meaning narrower than the OEM section width 205s, which many people do with winter tires (but I don’t).

My wife bought the latest tires on the car which were 205/50/17. But looking up the correct stock, she should of bought 215/50/17. I wonder what happened there?

I just put them on as my winter tires, but didn’t buy the winter tires yet. The car drives better with these rims. Not sure about mpg yet. But I am going to take your advice and leave them for my all season wheels. And turn my Oem rims as winter.
