As many have probably experienced one of the items that need to be changed on the Prime are the sun visors. In my opinion they are worthless. The 2020 Prime model has new visors that extend that offer much greater protection. I spoke to the parts person where I purchased my car to see if the 2020 visor could be ordered. He said that they could. We ordered one and will see if it fits on my car before ordering the second one...I will let you know if it works once it arrives.

I looked at the updated visor on a Gen4 and it had about a 4” extension. Didn’t look to be much of a difference. I’m interested to hear how your new one compares to the old.

I'm interested too. If i get the 2020 visors, I'm going all out and getting the black shifter surround, and the buttons and other white pieces on the steering wheel

I sat in one with the new visors. They didn't add a lot of coverage. I have no idea what the person who designed them was thinking. They leave a gap above and don't go as low as the main part and to top it off, they still don't come anywhere near the pillar or even as far back as the driver's head.

The order came in today. It took just a few minutes to install each side. The color match is perfect and the mirror light works on each side. They were an exact fit. I drove around positioning the Prime where the sun was coming in from the drivers side and then the passenger side. Both my wife and I felt that they made a huge difference. One person on this forum said he sat in a new Prime and and said that he was not that impressed with the new visor. I'm not sure if he actually drove around and tried them out or not, but I can say after installing and testing them by driving in different sunny conditions they made a big difference.

What was your total cost for two new visors, and from whom did you buy them?

That was me. I did not get to drive it. I was simply extrapolating from the big gaps they left that my ugly aftermarket strap-on visors don't have. I'm sure that any extension would make a big difference and I'm glad you're satisfied with yours. (y)

I bought them from the Toyota dealer. I paid $90 per visor and installed them myself. I decided to go with the manufacturer because I wanted an exact fit and color match. Interestingly, the parts person at the Toyota dealership was very excited about the success. He told me that he has a lot of complaints about the original visors and I was the first to try and replace them with the 2020 updated version. He told me I was the first to replace them at the dealership, but certainly won't be the last.

Much, much better. For me it has made a huge difference. I drive on a north/south freeway and the morning sun was always a nuisance and the afternoon sun going the other direction was miserable. All I can say is that they work for me and I am happy with the outcome. They look great and match perfectly. I did not want some aftermarket product that did not match and detract from my Prime. That is why I chose to got with original Toyota visors, updated in 2020 of course. I do love my car!

It's not a Toyota item. You can order them from visormates. This forum won't allow me to post the link, but just do a google search on visormates and you should find them on Amazon or directly from the manufacture.
