600 miles update: I think it's long enough to say that the problem is now fixed and he's a good mechanic other than forgetting some minor bolts here and there. Not really a big of a deal for me, especially when everyone else is asking for more than $2K. Place is A Care Auto, 1102 W Fremont St, Stockton, CA 95203.

800 miles update: TBH, this shouldn't take this long. Basically I notice engine oil drop marks all over the place I used to park. I only noticed it because yesterday I need to move my Prius inside the garage for dent repair. There's always two drops, side to side, on the driveway where I often park it. I suspect that it's been like that for a good month since I brought my car for repair. I tried going under the car just now but couldn't fine the source of leaks. I ended up cleaning the places where there are fresh oil for now. My plan is to come back and see if there's gonna be a new fresh oil under the bay, then I can narrow it down to where the oil is leaking. Note that the oil leak is so minor that it probably will last for 5000 and have the oil changed before the oil even come to the danger level. Still don't like it.

The leak should not be difficult to find. Remove the engine undercover and take a look.

And maybe leave the engine undercover off for a few days.

If I had to guess, the crank seal was not replaced and since the crank seal had to ride on/off the crankshaft (when the timing cover was removed), it is now leaking.

Or the oil filter housing o-rings were not replaced and are now leaking.

    Just a guess.

But you really need to remove the undercover and inspect. Or just take it back to the shop like most customers would.

The bolt marked with blue ink was not tight. I tighten it just now. I don't even know if that has anything to do with oil. The area marked with red ink, there is oil presence over there where I cleaned it.

Also I kinda curious to what that black triangle shaped like cover is for.. It's tighten by three bolts, one of which is just to the right of the bolt I marked blue..

If I can't find why I will bring it back since it's his responsibility to fix it completely.

I didn't care for the crank seal when I replaced my HG. The new one was part of the HG kit, but once I realized that I'd need yet another specialized tool for correct installation, I said "screw that" and kept the old one. It's been about 2K miles back, and it's not leaking at all. The engine is bone dry on the outside.

In this particular case, I suspect that leak originates either form a chain tensioner or that that semi-captive 10mm bolt that requires FIPG before installation. Frankly, I completely forgot to put FIPG around mine on the inside before putting the timing cover on, so instead I've just squeezed some straight into bolt hole. So far it's been holding fine.

Should you decide to replace the crank seal, a piece of PVC pipe of the appropriate thickness and diameter works fine as a crank seal installer. Just make sure the end is perfectly flat.

    Isn't that an engine mount?

Is that is? Idk. Gonna have to bring it back this Thursday. The issues I have been facing so far are minors. Personally I won't complain for this at all, unless it's an immediate harm to my car..

The upper radiator hose is actually at the bottom left hand corner? Its the bigger one connected to thermostat ??

The "upper" radiator hose is always the one that takes hot coolant from the engine to the radiator.

The "lower" hose takes the cooled water from the radiator to the thermostat.

The "upper" one is not very "up" in this layout, but you can see it has callout 16571C.

Of the hoses to the reservoir, the one colored red here fills the system when coolant is poured into the reservoir. The blue ones carry air bubbles from a couple of the system's high points and returns the air to the reservoir.
