    Would like to see your interior, front seat. Back seat legroom. Side view of exterior and back of car. Did you get awd I forgot? Are there any labels on exterior to suggest it is awd?

    Not AWD. Is an L Eco, so base model.

    The interior is pretty basic. Just had a rain storm come through, so I'll wait for a sunnier time (later?) or day to take pictures.

    So far it is out-cornering most vehicles on the clover-leaf on-ramps, so it has that going for it. Handles like a little go-kart, and having the insta-torque of the electric is fun - but it dissipates much past 55 or 60 MPH. It's a bit slower accelerator than my truck was from 60 to 90 when entering the highway. Within common speeds, though, it's got the power to overtake and manipulate through traffic nicely.

    Instead of the harbor freight tarps. I suggest the harbor freight moving blankets for $3.99 with coupon. If you are a big spender the nicer version is $7-8. Highly recommended for hauling stuff like bikes and hardware store visits.

    I should point out that when the stars are aligned the CVT transmission of the Prius makes it seems like it has real power in the 35-65mph range when accelerating. After the rare experience you will think it was your imagination. I always tell passengers get ready to feel the power of the Prius when accelerating. It's always greeted with laughter.

    The first hybrid I ever drove was a 2016 Prius Three, which was one of the earliest models built but was a leftover when I purchased it (still new) from a lot with a bunch of newly-arrived 2017s at a deep discount at the end of the year. I loved that car. Easily 60-70 mpg on long trips and in the summer, which decreased to 45-50 mpg in winter and around town.

    My 2016 Prius had some quirks. I had to repair the windshield several times after it got chipped by even the smallest bits of gravel or road debris. The cloth interior (especially the armrest and driver's seat) wasn't especially rugged. And, the speedometer was only able to use mph measurements rather than kph, so on trips to Canada you had to guess how fast you were supposed to drive. The front axle developed a clicking sound over time, and the dash occasionally rattled, but neither issue was severe enough to bother taking it in for service.

    That Prius got totaled in 2019 and I purchased a brand new 2019 Prius XLE. I love it even more. It's everything my 2016 was, but some of the early design quirks have been worked out. The softex seating is much more durable. The windshield hasn't cracked. The speedometer can read in metric. I don't have any rattles from the dash or clicks from the front axle. I was able to get a sunroof (unavailable in 2016). It has all the driver assistance technology and adaptive cruise control that wasn't available in 2016. Unlike most posters here, I'm no fan of adaptive cruise control, but I love the steering assist, blind spot monitoring, and cross-traffic alerts.

    The Prius is a heck of a car, and it gets better every year. When this one wears out or gets wrecked, I'll probably buy another one.

    The back seat legroom is the same as 2016/7/8. It's only PRIME which has changed back seat.

    Well, sorry, but the car is in utilitarian / pickup-truck mode already. Seat covers are on the front, tarp is in the back. I did test out the leg room when shopping, 5'10", and thought I had nice leg room in the back. Certainly enough should I need to pick up clients and take them to lunch.

    One area where I feel cheated compared to what I have seen in older models, and understand from the forum for Gen3's, is the center console's lack of use of space. This center tray should have a pocket underneath it, or side-access under it, but it's just wasted space.

    Unless those blankets are waterproof/water-resistant, they'd just allow through the crap I'm trying to protect my interior from. I saw them, and yes - good idea for civilized folk.

    Agree. It has a bit of traffic-negotiating punchy-ness, enough so that it is a departure from the old, slow-moving Priuses.

    Yeah, I just took out the owner's manuals and booklets out of the glovebox this morning to make room. I never used the books in my last new vehicle (all suggested maintenance items can be found online and in forums), and - surprisingly - the owner's manual and booklets weighed quite a bit. Some fuel savings right there compared to what I replaced them with in the glovebox. :ROFLMAO:

    My leather gloves need to be accessible in expedient order - they're for aiding and/or extricating people in/from vehicular wrecks. (Shit's crazy here, yo.) Best place for them is tucked into the driver's dash/windshield corner since they can't go forward from there during an emergency stop, but I don't have them up there yet since I'll be getting the windows, including the front windshield, tinted.

    With Toyota's own roof rack for it. Just got it installed last week. A very large, very busy Toyota dealership told me that they didn't know how long it would take because they'd never installed an OEM Gen4 Prius roof rack before.

    I blame the earlier Gen4's for a large portion of the downfall of Prius popularity; when I see the tail-lights on those things, I only think of horned-rim glasses. Fine for 'get me the manager' Karen-types, but jesus they're ugly.

    The 2019 Prius has been on sale in the UK since January and mine is the first one I've seen in the metal. I read somewhere that Toyota only expect to sell 1000 here. The Corolla hatch and wagon plus the C-HR have completely eaten the Prius's lunch.

    In my opinion Gen4 Facelift has more ugly taillights they look at me as Toyotas attempt too make Gen 4 more normal and it failed in my opinion. I consider gen 4 facelift ugliest Prius becouse they destroyed nice looking car as whole

    I concur. I'd have happily replaced my third generation Prius with a fourth in 2015, but the outré styling inside and out was not for me and I've been driving a CT-200h for the last four years instead. It took Toyota toning down the exterior (and ditching the bathroom plastics of the interior) to tempt me back. How many of the first time Prius buyers who made the third generation such a success (remember the long waiting lists?) were similarly deterred and may never come back? The fact that Toyota have taken the plastic surgeon's scalpel to the car suggests their market research shows the original styling was just too much.

    I agree - the Gen 4 update didn't improve anything. Now that I see a few around, they're quite normal, and far better looking than many monstrosities on the road (or in showrooms).

    @alanclarkeau no it did the oposite it made gen 4 uglier. Gen 4 was from ground up designed too have prefacelift lights, but somebody tought giving him normal lights will help well it does not

    Well here in Slovenia Toyota is not even bothering promothing new regual Prius, but prime is promoted second issue is price here new regual and new prime with same equipment package have same price

    Well, I guess we disagree then. My 2019 tail-lights' design is so much better than the 2016-2018 tail-lights. I guess I'm just not one of those people who figured they'd fit right in with my styling, let alone be one of the folks who were glad that expensive tail-lights now reached down the corners to be easily damaged by errant back-up maneuvers, let alone errant drivers in parking lots backing into them.

    A Prius looking like a Prius is one thing, and I'm fine with that. Those tail lights, though, were not a stylistic feature of Prii in the past, so... I don't quite get the affinity for them.
