    Hello fine people,

Newb here! Been reading the forums and trying to educate myself before buying my first Prius.

A 2010 Prius IV with solar package caught my eye. Asking price is $6950. The car has 147k, clean Carfax and all service is up to date and done at a Toyota dealer. I haven't looked at the car yet, it's out of state and I'm trying to determine if it's worth it to go see it.

I understand the potential issue with head gasket failure with this year but it does not seem to be a given. So this has not completely swayed me against purchasing this vehicle. Please tell me your opinion about this.

I am trying to decipher a few things on the very last service record that I pulled up on the Toyota Owners site. Are those issue alerts that the customer declined a red flag? I don't know if those are a definite problems or just a recommended dealer service at that mileage (135,442).

Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey, replying to my own post, I decided to walk away from the 2010 model. I realized it's just not worth the chance of potential problems, particularly since the car is within in the mileage range for these problems to pop up. I want to buy a car to make my life easier and having to deal with major repairs is not what I want or need at the present moment! I am going to go a safer route and get a newer used model, it's worth the extra couple of thousand to have the peace of mind, I've decided.
