Cleared one code changing the inverter still getting P0B42 any ideas other than the harness being corroded battery packs all showing 8.5volts

Did the P0B42 have freeze frame data? Isn't it similar to "Block 2 becomes weak"?

It is block 2 low voltage p0b42 block b weak voltage but I'm debating that the harness itself is faulty due to the cells being the same voltage as the rest any other ideas I'm always up for the help

Are you using techstream? Do these codes supply freeze frame data?

I currently do not have tech stream but have been reading on how to buy one and set it up. This car was of course scanned at a dealer and brought to me bc all they wanted to do was throw a new battery and inverter ecu at it I am the only one in my area who will touch a Prius and have rebuilt many battery packs with success this one is just being a pain I have another HV ecu and wiring harness I'm just debating on changing them or just replacing block 2

Yuengling! I love Yuengling. Whenever im back east I drive to Pennsylvania and buy Yuengling lager from a beverage distributor. I miss Stoney’s too but you gotta go to Pittsburgh for that. And you really need a copy of techstream and at least a mini VCI. You can find older free copies of Techstream online pretty easy and attempt to install it even before you get a mini vci.

Google techstream 12.20.018 and see what pops up.

Still getting P0B42 after replacing block B cells also the dash display currently shows the HV battery is not charging and yes I checked with the cover off manually. I'm stumped any ideas guys all the cells are the exact voltage charged and discharged this is a tough one you can crank and drive the car perfectly no issue other than not charging the HV battery. I'm thinking HV battery computer failure ......also every dash light imaginable is on. I'm about to replace the whole hv battery cut my loses and move on I got 5 atm and this one is costing more time than I'll get in labor. Also on a lighter note the majority of Prius I work on are rebuilt titles

The battery in the picture just below this line is a replacement from Toyota. The giveaway is the extra stickers on the case. I could not make out the date codes on the modules from the picture with the beer. Hope you left all of those newer modules in place.

Sorry to bring up an old thread.

    I am having a P0B42 code.
Slight corrosion in the terminals and got it cleaned up. Toyota tech reassembled and the code still persist.

If the smart unit is broken, would techstream be able to pick up the voltage readings of each block? Like the picture i uploaded. Thanks

Could u elaborate how the fan and the smart unit is broken?
