    And do a car shuffle every day? That seems like a major, major pain. Either that or you have too many cars because the lifted one isn't being driven at all. :whistle:

    i don't need one, but if one of our kids moved back in :eek: it wouldn't be a big deal to put the least used car up in the air. especially with plug ins, no engine starting.

    in nice weather, it probably would get less use, but i hate cleaning off vehicles.

    My 3-car household doesn't drive all three every day, not even close. Nor does it have one that isn't driven at all. There is a substantial middle ground.

    I think what people are missing is that this is not a one car garage prior to the lift nor is the capacity still only two after the lift.

    Why would anyone do the shuffle every day? The main drivers will be parked side by side ground level. The supra (bmwupra?) will be up in the air where it will be for most of the winter and often on summer working days. Should i switch them, then the supra gets parked on ground level and the prius stays in the air for a while.

    Parking outside, risks aside, you would shuffle as much anyway with the three cars as one will need to be moved to the other side of the driveway to allow both dailys out.... or if you park one daily on the drive way and the supra in the garage then its the same impact as putting the supra in the air.

    Certainly makes sense...and I get it. However, it wouldn't work well in our scenario ( all cars are in use ).

    I really like the lift though. It would be extremely nice to be able to work under a vehicle with one of those...assuming it is safe for that application.

    I am kind of liking it- it is definitely not a Toyota though.... On the bright side I think this balances out Prius ownership

    Because it is... bmw engine, bmw transmission, bmw interior, built on the z4 frame on the z4 production line.

    Then again, the original supra didnt have a toyota engine either...

    Toyota claims they ripped the engine apart and had components redesigned to meet toyota standards. There is a theory that the car making less hp and torque then the z4 while everything else is the same was toyota also being more conservative.

    The tuning, suspension, and handling are all toyota design. The 50/50 weight distribution is supposed to be toyota as well. Once people started getting their hands on it, they found it was putting down way more power than advertised and outperformed the z4.

    While getting knocked for the bmw aspect, its turning out to be a much better car than people originally anticipated. Quite a few articles and videos out there.

    There's been a lot of collaboration over the years. A MAZDA sold as a FORD. A NISSAN sold as a FORD. A FORD sold as a NISSAN. Mitsubishis with Chrysler badges. Then who makes the Mercedes X Class - NISSAN. PSA tied up with VOLVO and Renault in the '80s to make the V6 engine. DeLorean used that same engine. VOLVO P1800 built initially by Jensen - till VOLVO decided they weren't making them very well. GM Holdens with NISSAN Engines. TOYOTA Camrys badged as GM Holdens. Holden Commodores badged as TOYOTAs.

    The SUPRA and BMW were a joint collaborative design - not a BMW with TOYOTA Badges.
