    Hi All,

Does anyone know any supplier that could ship a Hybrid battery to Malaysia?

I have DTC codes of P3014 (Bank 4), P0A80 (Replace Hybrid battery) and strangely P0130 (Oxygen sensor).

My Prius is imported from the UK and the Gen 2 was not sold here so the local Toyota are not interested!

I am awaiting a quote from my local mechanic to see if he could source but I wanted to explore all options.

    Thanks,

    Phil

How much are you willing to pay? We'll get @2k1Toaster thoughts. I know he has been willing in the past to ship to other countries, but it may cost you.

I'm trying to find out the cost to see whether its viable to repair or not.

I could send the components for a Toyota OEM battery but it would be somewhat costly.

Looks like FedEx would be slightly over $1000, just as an example. That's using 100 lbs, 50"x12"x8" to Kuala Lumpur. I'm sure those dimensions aren't quite accurate and you would know better, Eric, but that's an approximate shipping cost.

Would an OEM battery direct from Japan be more practical for shipping, or is that not possible? I would assume an OEM battery in North America originally shipped from Japan? Just seems a little nuts, to ship a battery from Japan to North America, then on to Malaysia.

Thanks all for the update. My mechanic has replied that he has found someone who is able to repair the battery. I am waiting for a quote.
I know someone here that has ordered a OEM battery from Toyota. Its costing them around RM 8K (about 4K US). If the quote for repair is not too crazy I'm thinking of getting the repair done and then looking to trade in for a new car. The Prius is no longer available here as it lost it tax breaks and the cost jumped to RM210k (105k US!). Hybrid Hondas are available so looking at them (HR-V hybrid RM 120k). Cars are crazy prices here.
