I noticed that car whines at cruising speed. To replicate the sound I jacked-up the front wheels and put the wheels in motion in D. I never noticed this sound in my father's Gen3. Is my transaxle fried ? please help

How long have you owned the vehicle?

How many miles do you have on this gen2?

Has the transmission fluid ever been changed?

Have you checked the wheel bearings already?

In the future, please don't spam the subforums with the same issue or advertise for other threads.

M sorry for spamming our of frustration dear.
Car is putting on 200k plus kms. I m pretty sure that Transaxle fluid has not been changed. Do you think changing the transaxle fluid would help out or the damage caused is physical?

Moreover I have checked the wheel bearing, they are ok. I sticked my head into the hud while my brother pressing the accelerator pedal. The sound is clearly coming from trany

What device are you using to read the OBD2 codes with, as you may need a hybrid compatible scanner.
Replacing the transaxle fluid will help it last longer in its current state, doubtful if it would fix a noisy transaxle. It could be worth a shot though, and far less expensive than a having transaxle that gets worse over time and eventually fails completely.
