Long story short, bought a used 2008 Prius a couple of years ago with the P1121 code on, drove it until a month ago when the inverter coolant pump failed. Also had an engine water pump that was becoming a little rattly, so over the course of a weekend changed out the two pumps, valve, and put on a new belt.

All was well, drove it about 1K miles with no errors or level changes in the reserviors.

Now, the P1121 code has reappeared. Replacement valve was a Dorman. How likely is it that the replacement valve failed?

There should be a warranty right? You should check the coolant level in the radiator, not the reservoirs. Anything can fail. My OEM 3 way valve part is making noises after 20,000 miles, so it's not as bad as your Dorman but it isn't living up to my expectations of an OEM part.

Did you find the solution to it throwing the code I have a 08 with the code and the valve was replaced with dorman valve and only has maybe a 1000 miles on it and the code it back since it was replaced
