    Are you seeing any traction control indicators when this happens?

    Yes, and I can feel the car taking control of the throttle, which goes away when I let off the pedal and comes back if I try to maintain speed or especially accelerate.

    Which brand tires do you have? There are different OEMs. I have the Bridgestones and haven't experienced rain yet, but the handling is pretty crappy in the dry. Starts to skid and understeer a lot earlier than I expect.

    Better Handling On A Budget ! | PriusChat

    1) Normal* = 195/65-15

    2) A little bit more sporty = 205/60-15

    * Both 1 & 2 are 1000% better than the Nanoenergy A29...

    Quit driving hypersonic... keep it below Mach 5.

    I suggest something in the low subsonic regime.

    Also, tires are everything. You have the equivalent contact patch of a sheet of paper touching the ground. The rubber compound (operating temperature) and tread pattern (road surface condition) make all the difference.

    I'm sure whatever Toyota puts on is simply to boost MPG ratings and has little regard to performance. I can't wait until my ensaves wear out.

    OEM tires are garbage in general and are made to the companies specifications. Usually they are softer then the aftermarket counter parts. They do this for the fuel savings, and that new car ride. They usually last two years max

    My camries all came with Bridgestone el400. At the time of sale I had them removed and either defenders or p7 on at my cost. I could not even give the el400 away

    Example is Michelin mxv4. We have them as oem on our family hauler. Great tire... quiet ride.. good crispt handling but lousy tread life. Got 18k out of them. These were oem on our sienna le and were rated at 300 tread life. Normal aftermarket is 550 tread life.

    Goes to show that the oem are only there to get you through the first year or two
