Hello! This will be my first hybrid purchase. I am considering getting a used 2011 Prius Four with 20,000 miles listed for $23K. It seems like I can get a new 2012 Prius Two or Three under $25K.

I do like all the options in Prius Four (leather seat, Nav, etc), but I am a bit nervous about buying it used. Is this a good deal? Should I just get a new car? Thanks in advance for your advice.

The assuming 10 year battery life and 10-year value of $5,000, a year of Prius costs about $2,000.

So, I think it's a reasonable deal on the Four, but not spectacular.

Does it come w/solar roof? If it does, I think it's a fair price but see if u can cut another $500 off the asking price:).

Yes, the used 2011 comes with solar roof. I can't make up my mind!

Be sure to check Carfax or such with the vin. You don't want to buy a car with a salvage title unless you're prepared to do the work yourself because there will be no warranty.

If you were diligent in your research, you can purchase a used car with little difference to a brand new car. I'll advise that you stick with cars no older than 2 years old. Make sure you review its vehicle history and consult a trusted mechanic before purchasing.
