Just wanted to say thanks for the advice-

Wanted to add that the clips once removed from the frame would not go on the seat by hand. So I thought "if they are broke already why not try a hammer" worked like a champ. They snapped back on and the bench was a cinch to reinstall:)

The repair manual does not indicate the clips as being a non-reusable part.

I just battled back seat bench removal. I read this thread because i had trouble latching the bench back in place. No matter how hard I push down it would not latch. The fasteners were not broken as far as I could tell. Then I removed the plastic fasteners and attached them to the metal loops on the bottom of the seat. After this they easily latched in their holes on the metal base when I lowered the seat and pushed down. I needed to put new seat covers and to clean all the gunk under the seat.

I am planning on installing a back seat cover and, just in case I damage the clips, I want to order the clips ahead of time. Can someone tell me how many clips I need and does anyone have a pic or link of what these clips look like and where may I purchase them?
    Thank you.

Have the same issue here. How did you remove the plastic fasteners? Looks like they're latched in

If you are facing into the rear of the car, the plastic tabs are on each side (front and rear of the clips). If you have strong hands and fingers you reach under one side at a time and push in on one side of the plastic up at the very top. That side will pop up and then you repeat on the other side and it pops out. Switch to the other side of the car and do the same.
Next you need to pop them on the seat bottom and it will take a lot of force. You could wack them with rubber mallet or block of wood if you can’t use arm strength alone.

The other trick to installing the seat is the get the rear hooks latched in properly. You need to wedge the seat in at the back and stick one hand in between the seat bottom and seat back to guide and feel if you are low enough to hook the two. It is much harder to install the seat with an additional cover on it but really simple if you follow these steps and takes limited pressure to snap the front of the seat in place

I attached some photos that might help.

Unrelated but regarding coverking seat covers.
The coverking covers have straps with clips which end up right on top of the plastic cover for the high voltage wires coming up through the floor. The seat is cutout for the plastic but not enough space for the strap clips. Poor design by coverking as this could have been easily remedied. It could be resolved by reversing the thick clip to the rear of the seat by sewing or by sewing the clip near the very front edge of the seat. I wasn’t going to do all that so my solution was to crisscross the two straps on that side of the seat and that worked well enough.

For me, pictures would help. But if I am understanding you, have to do either the top portion or bottom portion first or it won't work at all. I can't remember, but I think its top first, then the bottom lines up.....................or, was it bottom first and the top clips line up? Sorry, I really hope this helps somewhat.

How did you get the clips out. I have a 2013 Prius and I don’t want to break the clips.
