To all whom it may concern I found a few threads on here concerning the 12 volt battery. I took the advice and threw in a group 140R battery from oreillys and it fits and works perfect. Cost $139 plus tax and core. So do not hesitate to do it. Thank you for the valuable info on these forums.

Thanks for posting this. I was always a fan of OEM toyota stuff but this battery according to my CCA meter the current battery is crappy and just over 2 years old. I even throw it on my Otimate charger $120+ from time to time to rejuvenate it and still only shows 200CCA at best. My brothers tiny boat battery thats tractor size says 425 and puts over 600CCA with the same meter. Granted, you don't need tons of CCA to start a Prius but it would be nice if on a cold night it doesn't show low battery on my radar detector or having my door open for an hour while I clean it.
