Lotus has brought back the Europa name- this time it's a fancier version of the Elise (not sure if that's a good thing.) When I was a teenager, I thought the (old) Europa was the coolest looking car around.

It's back but not comming to America.

It's a slightly elongated and wider Elise with a real interrior and actual padded seats as well as reshaped body pannels.

The Europa S is supercharged, the Elise weight with an interrior and supercharger = soooooo much fun. Too bad we don't get it here.

Not to mention the "power" button that does just what it says and makes the output from 400 to 500hp. As car and driver said "every car should have one".

That'd be very interesting but I'd call it the "CRX-7"

I've always preferred light-weight, responsive sports cars. I still have my old Alfa Romeo Spider...

I'd love to see Toyota fit a slightly more performance-tuned Prius powertrain into a lighter, more compact two-seater. Light and responsive beats massive power anyday for fun to drive. With speed limits and traffic being what it is today, a light, nimble car with Prius-level power that handled well would be the most fun on quiet secondary roads.

Either get them to knock $15,000 off.

Or put in $15,000 of my own money.

Or wait a few years for the price to drop.

Was there a price limit that I forgot about? If it was $85k, then you're in luck. The "stripper" version of the Tesla (still 0-60 in four seconds) will be $85k.

I have an Audi TT Roaster for when I get the bug - but spending 99% of my driving time in the Prius.

I bought the Prius to support the tecnology (vote with my dollars) and I will get the Tesla Roadster as soon as I can get my hands on one.

I do like what I see regarding the X1 above in this thread - make a street legal production model and I'm in.

If I could donate the remainder to charity, I'd look for a 1989 Toyota MR2, supercharged, in excellent condition.

    Otherwise I'd consider a Lotus Elise, Corvette, Boxster, RS4, BMW M, a 93-95 RX-7, or a 2005 MR-2 with a upgraded 2ZZ-GE VVTL-i engine from a Matrix/Corolla XRS or Celica GTS.

I already do 0-60 in 3.3 seconds... I would like to go quicker but I think I would rather have one of these:

The corvette is your father's sports car. My idea of a sports car comes from Italy.

I already own a 2006 Corvette Coupe and couldn't be happier. My wife and I recently drove it on a 5 hour trip with the cruise control set to 80 MPH for much of the trip and we averaged 29.9 MPG. This is still the best performance bargain sold in this country.

The colours are so close, it's not even funny. I think the Corvette looks darker but it could be simply the lighting.
