With the Hybrid Automotive equipment, you’re set ;).

Don’t forget that your Prius is now 12ish years old, so things are bound to fail:cool:.

Just be thankful that in the salt belt you’re not dealing with body panels rusting away that would force the car into early retirement .

Not if the skid control ECU is shot. :ROFLMAO: I'll probably check the the harness connectors on Tuesday, I want to read up a little more on how to reach them. Looks like I need to remove the steering column assembly (unless someone knows a better way). Plus, tomorrow's the last day of La Festa and that's a fantastic reason to procrastinate. If I'm right, and it's a short, then I'll order the parts I need (including the clockspring and possibly the signal switch) and start to recondition the battery while I wait for them. I won't drive it while the braking system is questionable.

Of course those parts might not solve my mystery clicking. :(

I love having snow that you can visit, then leave there and return to your home where it’ll be 50-60 and sunny;).

As much as my parents want me to miss the snow and NEPA, the Bay Area of California has a lot to offer:).

    Particularly weather wise(y).

It is always better to have the WHOLE story right up front. :)

When (IF?) you get the clock spring fixed, you might find that the clicking really IS coming from the turn signal cancel mechanism and really IS normal........since you only notice it when the signal is activated.

If only I had known the buttons I never use weren't functioning before I was advised to go check them.

I always thought that I'd love living in a different climate, but when I moved south - I hated it. I didn't miss shoveling snow, but I don't do well in warmer climates. The heat makes me cranky.

    The struggle is real.

    Don’t move south, move west;).

It’s less humid and there are no hurricanes to worry about:).

And there is plenty to do and see near the coastline or 2-3 hours inland(y).

    This.

I only go to Florida when someone is paying me. It’s everything I don’t like about New Jersey, with less access to skiing.

You only have to pay attention to the ones you feel;).

    Which isn’t that often:).

Always good to test the earthquake straps and keep the easterners out on the thought of them(y).

The only thing I don't hate about Florida is the myriad of family and friends that choose to live in that swamp land. I infrequently visit during the off season, when the tourists are gone and there's nothing to do. :ROFLMAO: Which is just how I like it, so the Back Mountain suits me well enough. I'm no stranger to hurricanes, but lately it's tornadoes that we've been seeing a lot of. Not too much experience with quakes, but being a Scranton native, I have seen the ground open up and swallow houses and cars due to the coal mines caving in. I suppose I wouldn't mind testing the west after the kids graduate, but I've twice lived far away from good pizza and there is much unhappiness to be found in that living situation. That being said, if year round autumn were available...

Today's NEPA forecast implies that today is a great day to investigate the short I suspect in my can bus line. I'll know soon enough whether or not I'm replacing the clock spring.

I don't know if I agree with this, mostly because I've never been to Florida or New Jersey, BUT....it's a hilarious line.

Oddly, I have now seen two very different movies in my lifetime that have presented Florida as some Shangri La like goal. Midnight Cowboy, and The Peanut Butter Falcon. In both cases, characters are trying to reach Florida.

And my only other exposure to supposed Florida lifestyle was Miami Vice, and then the series Dexter.

I don't think want to be in Florida, but I think I want to TRY to get to Florida.

When I lived in New Jersey we went to Florida once. In the summer. When I got out of the car it was so humid I wanted to go back to New Jersey.

    I went to Jersey once.
There was about 18 inches of snow on the roads and cars were off in the ditches everywhere.
In the spring when things thawed out, there were potholes about the size of a small car.......and some of them seemed to stay around until NEXT winter.

    To each his own.

Looks like I'm replacing the clock spring connector. I began the process of reconditioning the battery a little bit ago. So I'll order the part and study up on how to replace it, while I take care of that. If it's takes care of the clicking noise, yay! If not, it'll continue to drive me nuts (normal or not), and I'll probably keep looking until I find it.

What’s your plan on reconditioning ?

Good luck with the clock spring replacement and keep us posted(y).
