if you're searching for the lowest price, only the ones in areas you're willing to travel to will apply.

as for next may, there's no way to predict it. it depends on how many they build, and how many they sell. the selling is much less predictable than the building

Thanks, yep, I understand it would be hard to determine prices that far in advance with any certainty, just trying to get a very basic rough idea, as far as travel I hope not to have to travel more than about 50 miles if possible, but would consider further if the discount was worth it.

last year, people were getting up to $10,000. off in the northeast. couple that with state and fed rebates, and there were a few $17,000. total discounts, or more for colorado residents.

i doubt we'll see it again, but toyota is supposedly going to build a ton of them. if they do, and gas prices stagnate, and the economy tanks, anything is possible...

Hey I'd be glad to even get an extra $4,000 or $5,000 off in addition to the $4500 federal tax incentive.

That’s I’m waiting for. Bigger rebates on the 2020.
Is the tax credit still in the 2020 budget?
If they drop it, I’d expect a run on primes late fall as people want that $4500

    Hello gurus,
Iam from WA state. Strangely Iam finding very hard to see a 2020 Prius prime at dealers lot. When I called they said they’re moving inventory to Oregon as they have state incentive apart from the 4500 federal incentive. Also, pls let me know if 24000 price for le is a good deal? Plus tax, title and registration. I got this quote from a Oregon dealer.26300 for the xle model.
This is for a 2020 Prius prime.

It is my understanding the federal tax credit is based on the number of units sold by each manufacturer, so if say Chevy meets the federal quota of Chevy hybrid cars sold the tax credits will stop for the Chevy hybrid models, but if Toyota still has not met it's quota it will continue even into 2020, I could be mistaken, but I think that is what I read somewhere a while back.

I can't speak for the LE model as I have been focused on prices on the XLE model, but $26,300 for an XLE looks like it would be a great price for here in the southeast, but I'm not sure if you could expect to get an even better deal in the northwest area, it seems like different areas have different low price points. As of right now, about $28,500 seems to be the low price point for an XLE in the southeast area.

$24K + TTL is a great price on a LE. $26,300 is really good on a XLE too. I assume these include a $1500 Toyota rebate.

Be careful of any dealer added accessories they may not be disclosing until you get to the dealer. Toyota dealers are usually pretty good about not doing that, but there are some still out there who play those games.

For a 2020 Prime LE with zero options (difficult to find) the MSRP + destination is $28,555. It looks like Toyota has a $2000 incentive for Oregon. Unless I'm missing something, that would mean a $2,555 discount ($1400 under dealer invoice) to get to $24,000. Were you also adding the state incentive from Oregon to get to $24,000?

Yup, I got burned with that through “VIN etching” when I bought my ‘16 Tacoma. I bought my ‘20 Prime Limited from a different dealer and they said they’d never do anything like that.

No. Since Iam in WA strategy Iam planning to drive down to Oregon(lot of people do that in wa state). The dealers will register the car to wa strategy. This includes only the 2000$ Toyota incentive and 2800 is from “certified Toyota dealer” discount.

That is a great deal if you can actually get it -- about $2000 below invoice plus the $2000 Toyota rebate. However, as others said, when you actually go to the dealer, there may be a catch and they may not let you buy the car unless you also buy $3000 worth of dealer add-ons.

I see in the gov webpage that there’s no mention of 2020 Prius prime .

Can anyone pls confirm if this is the case? Maybe they’ll update it in couple of month because this was updated on 6/20/19?

They’ve mentioned 2017-19 Prius prime but no mention of 2020 Prius prime. Maybe since it’s relatively new model year just started coming to the market?

That's correct. The battery-capacity-dependent federal and state plug-in rebates depend on the phaseout, which I believe starts at 100,000 plug-in vehicles sold by a manufacturer. Tesla and Chevrolet have already phased out because they have sold more than that.

The rebate will be decided in early 2020 or so when the fourth quarter sale numbers are in but I don't think Toyota is anywhere near the 100,000 plug-in cars yet, as Prius Prime is its main contender and doesn't sell much.

It's 200,000. Toyota has a few years to go.
