So after unplugging all the cables to the traction/hybrid battery and battery charger...gave the precharge relays a few love taps...accidentally took apart the outlet..reassembled it and plugged everything back in defeat convinced I need a battery charger I go to plug it in to determine whether to cry to the dealership now and it works!!! :D so turn off and unplug and reconnect seems to solve the issue for now

:mad: spoke too soon...so I'm convinced now it's the outlet. Like I said earlier In this thread I had to force it before and now I dont so I plugged it in and forced it a bit and it worked...unplugged...plugged back in...doesn't work. When I disassembled the outlet it doesn't seem to have anything to keep the pins in place. Thoughts? (n)

maybe it's the female port in the car, is there an o-ring in there that's dislodged?

I saw no o ring...its just pins coming out of the orange cable into the back end of the female outlet.

Yeah we went through that...its not the cable from the wall that's a problem. It's my cars outlet I think now. Saw its $177 online to replace. Just gotta make sure that's it

This outlet. The pins from the orange cable on the back, for whatever reason, keep falling back into the cable and not staying on the outlet.

Wouldn't that be called the inlet? :)

Haha I am new to this so yes. Toyota recognized it as VEHICLE CHARGER CABLE ASSY; PRIUS; PLUG-IN MODEL; EV CHARGER CABLE.

So technically not the inlet but that's where its visible that there is a problem.

Good thing I know how to trouble shoot without a tech pub. I'm hoping the fix works. Krazy glue for now, epoxy as last chance cause Toyota don't sell that holder alone. $200 :/
