This is the balance charger I used to successfully balance the modules in my Gen2 2005 Prius. This charger has the features and settings found in the forums here to balance the six-cell modules in the high-voltage battery pack. I'm including the four cables I made to connect the batteries. This is ready to go!

The charger costs over $200 new on Amazon and eBay and they do not include the right cables for our application. I don't see any used listings current on eBay where I paid over $170 - and I bought the materials to make the cables. I'm asking $150 to recover some of my costs. Will ship in the USPS priority mail flat rate large box at my expense.

Horizon Hobby's DYNC2050 Prophet Sport Quad 4x100W AC/DC Battery Charger

Features: (check the picture for the menu displays)
    • Can use either AC or DC for supply power - no hunting down 12V batteries or PC power supplies
    • Four 100-watt (4x100W) channels so that you can concurrently/independently work on four modules
    • Can be set to perform one to five charge->discharge->charge cycles
    • Explicit support for NiMH chemistry and mAh capacity cutoff
    • Provides a report of the charge/discharge mAh (only useful for relative measurement/analysis to compare modules and the capacity improvement achieved)
    • PDF Manual here
    Includes:
    • AC Power Cord
    • Four cables I built with solder and heat-shrink - banana plugs on one end and ring terminals on the other - connects the modules securely with wire of a sufficient gauge to charge/discharge these modules
Does not include the (unnecessary for Prius module balancing) balance boards and battery cables from the original package. Our modules do not support the balance boards and the included cables were of too small a wire gauge.

How long does it take you to do a cycle run? (discharge and charge x3) meaning to discharge and charge a module 3 times.

You will likely get a better answer in the forums. I don't recall how long it takes since I never timed it. I would start a round as I left for work and another round when I got home. I have a backup car so I didn't mind it taking a while.
