Ok, so quick update. I got in there to view the wires and I have about 5-10 broken/cut wires (That I can see). I have a couple of questions.

    1. I see several of the black wires cut. I do not see a matching number of wires coming from the harness so I think they may be plicing off from one another. Is is safe to assume the black wires are ground wires and can just be connected together?

    2. With so many wires damaged is it possible to just replace the harness. If you look under the dash you have two major bundles of wires coming out of the firewall area (see attached picture). Lets call this an upper set and lower set. (Upper being the bundle of wires above the other set). The upper set of wires all look perfectly fine. The lower set is the one that is cut. Is it possible to just replace the lower set of wires?

    3. Is the lower set of wires the same wires going into the engine area (See other attached picture)? Can I disconnect these wires and pull them back through to the engine area to inspect them and fix them. Some of them are cut so high up agianst the wall that it may be hard to repair them. I was thinking if I could pull them back into the engine area (if these are the same wires) I could repair them over the engine area much eaiser and then feed them back in through the firewall. I hope this makes sense. Thanks again

My main question is if the wire bundle under the dash is the same wires in the engine area, can I pull them into the engine area, repair or replace?

A member here has removed the wiring Harness from a Prius. I just don’t remember who it was.

I was able to repair the wires and was able to start the Prius for the first time. It drives great but I still have a red triangle as well as a check engine light and brake light the ((!)) light (I think it is brake) and the VSC light and Maint Required Light. I decided to rescan the car with the VCI while several codes went away I still heve the following codes.

    C1310 HV
    P0A78-280

I will upload an image of the details related to this. Any ideas? thanks again for all your help.

P0A78-280: the wiring harness is still suspect. There are two wires in particular which need to be checked, between the inverter and the hybrid vehicle ECU.

Make the car IG-OFF and remove the orange traction battery interlock before you remove the inverter cover.

Would you mind helping me locate these two wires. I dont understand wiring diagrams etc. Maybe a description of the location of these or any other input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for replying to my question. I do appreciate any and all input.

Any idea on the code C1310 HV?
I read one forum where they said this will cause the Red Triangle to appear. I will check the wires again but if the warning lights might be associated with C1310 it would be great to also check the reason this code it popping up. I posted the images for C1310 with all the values the software produced. Maybe someone out there could review the images and see if there migth be something we are missing.

It is telling you that the Enhanced VSC, TRAC system heard from the hybrid control ECU that there was a problem and has modified the behavior of the VSC/TRAC system until such time as the hybrid control ECU problem is fixed.
