need glue/epoxy suggestions for rear spoiler

    Center of rear spoiler was cracked along the vertical edge about 8 inches and one crack on the horizontal about 1.5 inches. Damage was caused by bicycle rack. I can push the parts back in shape but do not stay, so my plan of attack is to slightly heat it, and move it all back into place, then epoxy/glue together, but i need glue that dries clear? or black, also obv waterproof, and strong?

    Will post pics this afternoon.

    Is the inside exposed if you take it off the car? I can't remember. Even if it isn't, I wonder if you could somehow drill access holes in the underside, do 2-part epoxy and fiberglas mesh from the back??

    I've used this stuff to mend a bumper tear:

    You prep with strong solvents, tack it together with crazy glue, tack on some fiberglass mesh, then mix and apply a special two-tube epoxy.

    There's another method that uses heated staples, that melt into the plastic, spanning the gap. That's maybe more of a pro repair.

    Speaking of pros, I suspect a body shop repair, while likely the best and most durable, would exceed the cost of replacement. Maybe just cave and buy replacement?

    Ours has never cracked, but it's been scratched by the garage door trailing arm more times then I care to remember. Luckily the garage door rollers jump the track first. I'm alway the one that's done it too... :oops:

    Gloss black enamel (Dupli-Color, for example) works "ok" to smooth it over a bit.

    Look up Betalink and see if that's something you might be interested in trying. Recommended by BMW for carbon fiber attachments.
