Today the flow rate of the air out of the vents on my Prius has noticeably dropped.

It makes no different which vents I select (front, feet, or windscreen).

The blower seems fine - it's still making its normal noise.

The air still blows out nice and cold, there just isn't much of it coming out, even on full blast.

I've pulled the cabin air filter and checked it's not clogged, so it seems like there must be a blockage downstream of the blower.

    Does anyone have any experience/ideas?

which vents are affected? Can you notice the difference from low speed and high speed settings? You can see the operation of the blower fan with the cabin filter out, see if it's spinning faster at the high speed settings

How did Bisco get in there....
But, seriously, probably already checked, but at times, lots of leaves, debris cover over the intakes along the bottom of the windshield on the outside of the car. You can open the hood and vacuum all that stuff off.

This seems to be an ongoing problem with the gen 2. My blower fried two months ago. It would occasionally turn on if I hit a bump in the road.:ROFLMAO:

Dear all i have bought 2007 prius 2 days ago. I have encoutered a problem relating to air vents.whenever i try to shift from face air vents to floor or windshield air vents the only air comes from the front air vents and also turning on the defoggers both windshield and back mirror no air comes out from their corresponding air vents. Someone told me that it is a most common problem with prius gen 2

I don't know about a most common problem, but it is a known fault. It is to do with the failure or incorrect operation of the servo motor(s) that control the air direction flaps.

Unfortunately, depending on which are involved, can be difficult to repair.
