If GND becomes a reality, even a partial version, I wouldn't have much choice. I'm willing to give up commercial air travel and 1 day shipping. Give up meat, I think soy burgers (and who knows what else gets invented) should suffice. I'll let the shipping industry figure out workarounds for coal and diesel. Luckily I live in a climate where I rarely need to use AC and heat, so my solar can handle it. I'm pretty flexible.

Think of the handicapped, disabled, elderly. Even with two hands, my dad is no longer able to raise a standard drinking glass high enough to get the bottom half. Without someone else to tip it up for him, he needs a straw.

I can do without for true liquids. Good milkshakes are another matter. A spoon (often disposable ) is fine in some situations, not for others.

Common paper straws? The mouth feel is awful.

That has mostly been done already.

737-100s were delivered through October 1969, none remain in service.

737-200s were delivered through August 1988. Worldwide, of 1095 delivered, only 58 remained in service last year, mostly second and third tier airlines and in developing countries. The last regular commercial flight in the U.S. was in March 2008, though some outfitted for gravel runways are still operating in northern Canada.

The next model in the 737 series was born in the 1980s.

this is what I have been installing on my clients residential or commercial air conditioning systems using heat recovery
    Product Type
The air conditioning systems already contain all the software in attached third pipe hardware to capture the hot waste gas that would normally be expelled to the outdoor ambient atmosphere and wasted.
During the summer months or if you’re a commercial building that generate a lot of heat you still need air conditioning in the winter you already paid the power company money to cool the space with no extra money you take that waste heat that is the equivalent of money I would been thrown outside and dump it into hot water and now you’re providing your hot water for free.

This is what I have been selling and installing for both residential and commercial killer technology extremely energy-efficient many times more reliable than anything that is manufactured in the USA. If you live in the coal northern climates and you have a steep driveway you can use them to heat water with water coils ran underneath your driveway to deice your driveway.

I stopped selling or installing the American made company equipment more than a decade ago because it was so energy inefficient and they broke down so often costing customers money in repairs and maintenance.
