so I have a 2012 Prius model 2 Some days the heat does not come up and it just blows cold and then while driving it will kick in with hot air. But when sitting still it will blow how for a while. Like 30 minutes. But then go cold again Any ideas?

Sound like a bad blend door actuator or control.

There’s 240,000 on the car. It had an overhead light come on and the reservoir was very low which I refilled

Lots of miles. The coolant being low is a clue that there is an underlying problem that’s baring it’s fangs. Do a thourgh inspection of all the hoses and other areas where you might see traces of coolant leaks. If the engine has any suspicious behavior, I would do a block and pressure check to see if you have any signs of a head gasket failure. With these kinds of miles, it’s highly probable.
