2018 Prius Prime Advanced. The display with the map periodically reboots while driving and without any request. It just started happening (Sept 2019). It is not a problem now but any ideas of why or a fx.

If you have an iPhone, my guess is it’s due to the new iOS update. Unpair your phone from the car. Delete it from the Prime and from your iPhone then start from scratch and repair it.

I will give it a shot and let you know. Today, it happened again at the very same location on a freeway where it happened yesterday. Curious. I will drive by the same place again.

This has been happening to me all day. Moreover, my iPhone X refuses to automatically connect to Bluetooth and when I try to manually connected and reconnected, the Bluetooth connection quickly drops out.

Probably due to the iOS updates. Did you delete it from your car and phone/unpair them, then re-pair them...?

Similar issues here as well...started just after new iOS update on my Xs. Hope the unpair / pair works.

Thanks for discussing my display problem on my 2018 Prius Prime Advanced. I noticed that it would reboot at the same spot starting in about October 2019. Today, it rebooted 5 times during a 4-mile drive downtown this morning. Entune then did an update. One the way home, no reboot. I just took it out again for a test drive and no reboot. Very interesting if iOS 13 upgrades is the cause. I will take your suggestion and delete my iPhone 6S+ from the car's bluetooth and from the phone's bluetooth. Then re-install. Will let you know if there are any further unrequested reboots.

Anyone with a 2017-2019 Prius Prime with a 11.6 inch display should definitely try installing the software update described in this thread: Software update from Feb 2020? | PriusChat It may not fix all causes of unexpected reboots, but fixing reboot issues is listed in the fixed issues from Toyota. My guess is there are multiple causes for the reboots and they've only managed to fix some of them with the updates that have been released so far. An update for the 2020 exists also, but nobody has been able locate the download for it yet.
