I acquired a '04 with 230,000, one-owner, mostly Yota serviced. Only needed an 02 sensor to get passed inspection, my only concern about the car was it history of brake work, not sure I have seen so many brake services before on a car.

Mine does that too. I believe it to be normal. If you sit parked and the battery SoC gets low enough (purple/red), the ICE will kick in and recharge it, but only to a level in which the indicator turns back to blue.

Should do then. If it does there will be bluetooth menus on the MDF. Why don't you try it and see?

Try reading the owners manual. If your used purchase does not have them, download the sections from Toyota.com, for your model year.

That's normal for the car, no worries.

I'm new to the Prius world. I've found a 2009 in immaculate condition inside and outside, 224,000 miles on it. All service was done on time and by a Toyota dealership. Asking price is $3500.00. I'm in North Carolina. I've read some of the post here and I'm still mixed on whether to purchase it or not. Any comments appreciated.

    welcome!

it really depends on your perspective, and ability to diy.

it could go another 1 or 200,000 miles relatively trouble free, or, you could've son=me very expensive repairs.

no one can tell you which, or something in between. great car overall though, i would put it up against any car with that kine of mileage, except for the battery.
the problem is the expensive systems vs a gasser.

Thanks. When I drove the car the maintenance light came on a few seconds after sitting turned on for about 15 minutes. Any idea why?

iirc, there is a menu that lets you set your own maintenance schedule. perhaps the previous owner set one
