I have read many, MANY threads on this before/while I was reconditioning my battery (started on 9/11/19), and I wish I could find the LONG one that I had been referencing, to ask this there, but I can't find it, and need to leave for an important appt very soon, before HA's cust service line is open.

I disconnected my 12V for the duration as recommended, and from what I understand, the car won't read the new charge for a bit and can overcharge the HV battery and cause mega problems if you don't disconnect the 12V, at least before you start the car, correct?

The final charge was 36h30m, and had maxed out at 245V, I waited the 30m to start, and when I did, the ICE kicked on and began to charge the battery (I turned the car off immediately). Having disconnected the 12V, isn't this supposed to not happen? Now what?

*Have the deluxe package, and wasn't using the bulbs to discharge. Did the full 3 cycles.

Start car, shift into neutral so battery won't charge. Turn on ac and let some of the battery charge drain off. Wait until battery soc drops to 4 bars and you should be fine. Press park and let it do its warm up. Get on with your day, give yourself a pat on the back for a good job

Thank you, so much! I've followed your advice and am now waiting for the warm up to complete. I was able to push back my appt 30 minutes (Phew!).

It's been a long 5 days, and I'll share my documented data later. :)

I've gone through a few tanks of gas since the recondition, and have traveled out of state at least twice. My mpg jumped up to 46mpg, and I'm sure it can do better, but we all know that a myriad of things can affect the mpg, and I'll just take it one day at a time with that. The car accelerates a lot better than it did, but it still struggles a bit in that arena, so I guess I've got more trouble shooting to do.

    Anyway, here's the data.

    Charge and Balance 1 - 19hours 34 minutes
    215V at .351A
    241V at .349A

    Discharge 1 - 9hours 13minutes
236V and of course it was jumping
it finished when I wasn't outside to hear the alarm - it was 138V around 11:00PM and at 11:50 it was at 156V

    Charge and Balance 2 - 21hours 11minutes
    164V at .061A
    242V at .349A

    Discharge 2 - 9hours 36minutes
    234V
finished in the night, woke to 174V

    Charge and Balance 3 - 29hours 42minutes
    178V at .407A
    241V at .349A

    Discharge 3 - 7hours 18minutes
    237V
    159V

    Charge and Balance 4 - 36 hours 31 minutes
    162V at .016A
    245V at .349A

Total time: 134 hours 2 minutes (5 days, 14 hours, and 2 minutes)

Can you update please, am looking at opinions for the system from users like you, I will greatly appreciate if you take a time to let the community know how the battery is performing.

My 2ยข for what it is worth: I had similar charge/discharge times as the OP except mine topped out at 235V except on the initial charge at 237V. My final charge was 26 hours but I reached 235V at 14 hours and only threw in the towel at hour 26 with no increase. My total time from start to finish was a little over 4 days.

Also, I don't put a lot of faith in Dr. Prius but I figure that would be better for you to evaluate what I'm saying vs. an anecdote. However, my battery life pre-conditioning was estimated in the high 40's and post-conditioning it was estimated at over 100% with over 140K on the HV battery. I performed the tests 5 days apart and I remembered that the test before conditioning didn't need the entire 15 minutes to engage the engine to recharge whereas post conditioning, it took 19 minutes to engage the engine under the same conditions so an improvement was made.

I don't necessarily track this closely anymore but my mpg went from 50-51 pre-conditioning to 54-56 post-conditioning given that more distance is handled by the traction battery instead of the ICE only. Your results may vary as I do mostly city driving rarely topping 50 mph. Post-conditioning my record for an entire tank (~8 gallons before I filled up) was 60.4 mpg with 195/65/R15 tires so no clock errors.

    Hope that helps!

Using Prolong discharged and charged my 07 multiple times never disconnected the 12 volt battery not once in fact i always charged them both at the same time. So the hatch being opened doesn't bother the 12 volts.

Since the charge is outboard of the cars software it does not really know its been charged up so it takes a while for it to register if ever.

Sorry for the delayed response, I've been on the site, but not logged in.

It held up great. I put the charger on last night for the first time since this recondition.

It's notable to mention that my car has been sitting for a few weeks because I was waiting on a part. I'm not confident it would need a boost if I had been driving it regularly.

I had forgotten about disconnecting the 12V and didn't bother, it's unlikely that I'll do so in the future - it's fine.
