As I understand it (correct me if I'm wrong), the current-generation Prius commenced production in 2003 at Toyota's Tsutsumi plant in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture. In 2005 extra production started at the Toyota Auto Body plant in Kariya City, Aichi. A fire at the Kariya plant in November 2005 temporarily set back production.

The previous generation Priuses were built at Toyota's Takaoka and Motomachi plants, again in Toyota City.

    KMO is correct.
It is called Fujimatsu plant of Toyota Auto Body in Kariya Ciry.

Please refer to your VIN number, the 11th digit shows the factory.
0 or 3: Toyota Tsutsumi plant
7: Toyota Auto Body Fujimatsu plant

    Where is the Prius made?

Mine's from Fujimatsu. That's in Kariya City, Japan. Cool, now I know where my Prius was born!

That's the same plant where they build the Camry and Camry Hybrid.

Welcome, ecologico. Thanks for the link. You're right, it is very interesting. Zero-landfill-contribution is impressive.

Very interesting. I wonder if there is a difference in the bladders each plant makes. I've never had a problem refueling yet I hear of this quite a bit?
