I just got a call from the salesman that sold me my Prius and he said that he has 3 more coming in 3 weeks. Silver 9, green 9. If you are interested you can call him. The price is MSRP + 785 protection package. 27024+tax+lic.

    One less Prius 9 available!

Thanks to you, TucsonDave, I am one happy camper. I got tired of waiting for my Prius, and started doing some lurking here and on priusonline. I called your dealer in Tucson, and I should have my pretty blue 9 by the end of the month. :D Yay! Of course now I have to fly from Illinois to Tucson and drive it back, but I could think of worse ways to spend a few days.

I almost wound up doing that :) I had a line Prius out of Tacoma, and was starting to look into flying out (from Minneapolis) and driving it back. Didn't wind up happening that way, but it was a near thing. :-D

Enjoy your first road trip in your Prius!

Hey, I should thank you, too, mshappe, because I think it was your reply to my inquiry on priusonline that sent me to this forum. Is this one big happy family or what? I sure do hope I like my car, because Mapquest tells me I'll be spending 25+ hours in it between Tucson and home.

25+ is what I would have had to do between Tacoma and here, so I understand :) Good luck!

And yeah, there's a lot of the same faces between the various fora. There aren't that many Prius owners yet, after all, and only a relatively small subset of those are geeky enough to go looking or Prius fora! :-D

I think it's the cool that someone who really wanted one is getting it. Actually, Blue was my first choice, want to trade? Driftwood 9?

I have traveled from here to Urbana many times. It's not that bad. You can leave your map at home and let the Nav system guide you the whole way. If you can stand hear that voice for 2 days. Let me know when you pick it up and maybe we can meet on your way out. You are going to LOVE this car. :D

Don't forget to bring LOTS of cd's, not many radio stations in Texas.

    Hi Tucson Dave,
I'm pretty psyched, I must admit. Do I want to trade for a Driftwood 9? Are you kidding? Don't get me wrong, I do like the Driftwood color (I get the impression that some don't) but hey, you can't beat a brand-spanking new car. Nice try, though.

It would be GREAT to meet a fellow Prius owner; not too many 2004s here in CU yet. I'll let you know when I'm coming. Thanks for the offer. I'm looking forward to the road trip and yeah, CDs are ALWAYS a must, no matter where you're driving.

Hey kids, I took delivery of my new blue Prius from Precision Toyota in Tucson on Monday. It took me about 2.5 days of driving to get back to Illinois, but this car is so much fun to drive that I really didn't mind it.
It was very exciting as I was driving east out of Ruidoso, NM toward Roswell--for about the first 40-50 miles, it's a kind of gradual descent from a high plateau, and I averaged 75 mpg! Sadly, you can't go downhill forever, and my mileage went down to the mid-40s (which is really nothing to sneeze at). But it was fun while it lasted.
I love this car. I think my husband's jealous.

Oh, and TucsonDave, sorry for not calling when I was in town. As it turned out, I got in kind of late on Sunday evening and I was in a bit of a rush to get out of town on Monday (I wanted to get home by Wednesday evening, so I didn't do much other than drive, eat and sleep). Zane was a great salesman--he picked me up at my hotel and brought me to the dealer. Nice guy.
